Ya, it might be awkward to have her throwing petals at that age. You can include her though. She can be a jr. bridesmaid and give her a small bouquet. Or, I'm using my 12 year old cousin as my "pippa" She'll follow me down the aisle and straighten my train :-)

I hear flower girls are usually younger.

My 9 year old sister did not want to be a flower girl, she wants to hold the rings instead Smiley laugh so I will get her a cute pillow Smiley laugh

FH has two nieces, one is 8 and the other is 9. They will both be the flower girls. I'm not sure I will have them throw petals but they will be holding something Smiley laugh

My flower girls are 10 and 11. It depends on how the girls feel; I wanted them to look young and girly so a flower girl dress was more appropriate than a junior bridesmaid dress. Just make sure that the girls are comfortable with their position

My flower girls are are my 6 and 8 year old daughters. and they will be throwing flower petals.. And i dont see anything wrong with that. 8 is still pretty young. and i dont think 10 is too old either. Maybe just see if she would prefer to be a flower girl or junior bridesmaid. But i think flower girl is perfectly fine. Maybe have her carry a kissing ball if you think shes too old to throw petals?

I was thinking on having her walking behind the 2 flower girls and making sure they throw the flower petals...since they are 3 and 4 years old!!

We have two 10 year old cousins who were really excited to be flower girls. Just depends on what the 10 year old thinks Smiley smile

I agree on it depends what she is comfortable with..I'd say like 11 or so would be a bit old. Maybe you could have her hold something instead of throwing petals. However, I dunno, but the idea of jr. bridesmaids always kinda seemed awkward to me.

My goddaughter is 8 and she is a junior bridesmaid and will come down carrying the "Here comes the bride" banner/flag.

Generally, it's okay until their name contains "teen". If you think she would be uncomfortable throwing flowers, you could always have her just carry the basket. I know my venue won't let her throw the petals anyway (mine will be 9).

Im having the same struggle. I wanted to awww factor with a flower girl. We don't really have anyone that is the right age so we might be going with two flower girls that are 8 and 9. I think it's fine.

My flower girl is 5 but my ring bearer is my nephew who is 12 years old. I really don't think it matters, it's whatever you want!

My flower girls are 3 and 9. The 9 year old is very excited, she didn't want to be a jr bridesmaid .... she wanted to throw the petals. I think as long as the girls are ok with it, age doesn't matter.

Our flower girl in 9 and very excited with her role We are letting her and her mom pick out whatever dress she likes. A lot of the "flower girl" dresses I've seen are too young and cutesy.
