Is 50-60 too cold for an outside ceremony?

Jenna, on November 15, 2016 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 67

Our wedding is Saturday!! We have been going back

And forth with having the ceremony outside or inside. It's going to be 61 and sunny but the ceremony will

Be at 530 after the sun goes down, what's an appropriate temperature for the ceremony to be outside?

Yeah, do the ceremony inside. You can always go outside to take pictures

Sounds chilly especially without sun and in dresses - most ladies don't wear hose so they would be especially cold

It's too cold for the ceremony after the sun goes down. It's going to 60 in NJ, but at 4:37ish the sun is going to go down and it's going to be dark and cold.

If you want pix out there, do that, but do the ceremony inside.

Would you want to sit outside for around a 30-45 minutes in a dress and heels in an uncomfortable folding chair while its 50-60 degrees out?

If you said to yourself "id be alright with that." you're lying to yourself. No. That is not okay. Don't do that to your guests.

    Wow! 47 and outside ceremony??

OP don't listen to Tori. If you are not comfortable, neither will your guests.

If in the sun, 60 would be lovely. Dark and 50, not so much.

What time does it actually get dark? If you're running at all late, you could potentially have your ceremony in pretty awful lighting and it would be hard for your guests to see everything. 60 isn't terrible, but 60 with no sun can be brisk. Unless you plan on handing out blankets and having heat lamps, I'd skip the outdoor ceremony. And that's coming from someone that spends a LOT of time outside in all weather.

I wouldn't want to be sitting outside for more than 5 minutes in that temperature. Couldn't wear a dress and probably not heels, either. Most likely boots.

If you insist, I'd say please invest in a huge conventional heater. This may help knock the edge off a bit.
