Invitations ordered!

Renay, on December 2, 2019 at 12:34 AM Posted in Planning 1 7
I'm so excited I just had to share.
I ordered the invites for the bridal shower as postcards that I designed completely from scratch. I got 50 of them through Vista Print for $12.00 including shipping.
I ordered our wedding invites (made front from Greetings Island template with my own wording, and the back from scratch) through PrintRunner 100 of them for $46.01!

That’s awesome, Renay! Did you avail of some Black Friday discounts when ordering?

How exciting! I also got mine around the same time as you did. Got to take advantage of the black friday sales. I'm trying to stay in budget, so any little deal helps. I can't wait to get the invites!!

Hi Renay, Did you receive your invites from Printrunner yet? I'm thinking about using them and would love to see a pic and hear feedback on the quality and weight of the cards you ordered.

Did you end up just purchasing envelopes from a different place?

    Thank you!

I did not order my envelopes through them, and am just planning to purchase them at office depot for around $20.
    Now the invitations/Print Runner story.
I ordered their free sample kit and chose my cardstock based on that. 100% free, didn't even ask for my credit card. They have a lot of information on their site about the color type your image needs to be in, and that was really helpful and super easy. Ordering was quick and painless, it shows you clear cut and safety lines and will not print your order until you approve the proofed image. My order came 5 days sooner than expected and I was exstatic. Until I opened the box. This is where things went wrong. My invitations were supposed to have a wood looking background on the front with peach flowers and writing. The back is peach and has brown writing and sepia tinted photo. The WHOLE thing had this awful green tint to it. I read the return policy and it states that they are not responsible for color variances. I panicked. I was so upset. I called the next day (I was WAY too upset to call that night. I would not have been kind to whoever answered). They man who answered was really kind. He sent me an email, had me respond to it with photos of what I received. I explained that it's worse in person, he said that he would pass it on to the color team to see if they considered it replaceable, and he would fast track it as wedding invitations are considered time sensitive and that I should hear within 48 business hours what their determination was. This was a Friday so I didnt expect to hear anything until Wednesday. Monday I got an email from the color team stating that they received my claim but I did not hear from them again. Friday was the first day I had time during business hours to call. At first the lady was really frustrating. I had to explain 3 different times that I was checking the status of a complaint before she finally got it. She put me on hold for a while, then got back on and said she could not reach anyone in the color department and would place me on an extended hold while she messaged the manager. About 5 minutes later she came on a lot nicer, told me that she finally was able to get an answer, and that my claim had been validated and already been sent for printing and they would be overnighting them after printing and I should receive them Tuesday at no cost. I let her know that if they came in incorrect again, I would expect a full refund and not just a reprint. Tuesday they came in PERFECT. They sent me an incredibly professional and well worded apology email later that week. Over all I would probably order from them again, because of the price. They're good quality and now that they're correctly printed, are beautiful. Customer service was mostly good, but it did take a while. Here are the pictures of the wrong and right ones side by side. Trust me, they're worse in person lol. Invitations ordered! 1

Thank you for the feedback! I’m so sorry about the stress! I completely get it. The bad ones definitely do look green! I got the sample pack from print runner today, and I didn’t exactly see the 16 pt. Matte finish in it. But the other matte finishes I saw still seem kind of glossy. I only need 100 invites too and that price of less than 50 cents per invite is very attractive. So I might just take them as they are. My design is just white background with two green ivy leaves. So not a ton of color. I considered ordering elsewhere to get a more wedding type of paper, but doesn’t seem possible without paying at least $100 more. The invitations just aren’t a huge priority for me.
