I would definitely get it. Mine was $250 but most people have told me theirs was less. If you’re paying thousands of dollars, I think $250 to protect it is totally worth it.

I'm planning on getting general cancellation and postponement insurance in case a family member is so ill we want to postpone or a vendor doesn't show. Also liability in case my guests accidentally damage something at the venue. My caterer acted like no one's ever asked them about insurance before in their entire career, which I find really weird! Of course, if you don't have much time till the wedding I get how it can be overlooked, but I think spending the extra $200 for an event that's costing you thousands is really worth it.

Our venue offered insurance for $200 so we took it because it keeps from the hassle of trying to find elsewhere. With all the money you're spending, it would definitely be worth protecting in case anything was to happen. Expect the unexpected.
