Industrial Style Unique Venues

Danielle, on August 15, 2012 at 3:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi!

I am currently planning my wedding. I live in NY but most of my family and my fiance lives in NJ. I love the look of the exposed brick walls, industrial style venues that are in abundance in NYC, but it is easier for my family and his family to travel into New Jersey then to NYC. Do you have any suggestions for industrial style venues in NJ. We definitely do not want the typical banquet hall at all. We are looking at inviting 200-250 people. Thanks for any of your input.

Below is my ideal venue but it is in Brooklyn so I am trying to avoid that.

Don't know about NJ but that venue you pictured is friggin amazing. I might have planned a DW in Brooklyn for that space. It's like an urban barn, I've never seen anything like it!

We got married in Chicago in a loft space. I'll tell you it was kinda tricky seeking out these venues, although it seems like they're gaining popularity so maybe your search won't be as tricky as mine was. I did all sorts of goofy google searches for "Loft space Chicago" "unique wedding venue Chicago" "warehouse wedding chicago" "industrial wedding chicago" etc etc.

There were several other venues we liked too - one was a theatre/concert venue, one was an antique store, etc.

    Here's what ours looked like:

Personally? I love the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn; it's two minutes off the end of the bridge, they can park a half a block away, and it's an amazing space. I'd go there in a heartbeat. The Steiner Studios are way fun, Pier 60-61; all are easy to get to, easy to park near, and will give you exactly the ambiance you're looking for.

Unfortunately, I don't know about venues in NJ, but I'm planning a Brooklyn wedding and the venue you pictured is EXACTLY what we're looking for...where is it?

Good luck with your search, it's so tough finding the perfect place!
