Impatient Bride

Future Mrs. Wathen, on July 2, 2013 at 2:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 38

Does/did anybody else feel like the year before their wedding was the longest one ever! Everybody keeps saying it'll fly by but it just seems to be dragging. Maybe when it gets a little closer itll go by faster. Who knows! Maybe I'm just impatient. Happy planning to everybody who still has awhile before their big day Smiley smile

Oh goodness! I don't even try to think about the date. I try to think about hey when he come home for Chirstmas, when I'll be done with college, etc. Then again, We both want to be married like yesterday, but I think it would be weird to be married to someone in a completely different country. Our date is the summer after he's suppose to return to the US. These past four months have flown by though.

I still have over a year To go. I am enjoying the planning and not getting stressed about it since we are doing a little at a time.

Unlike lucky me, I don't miss the planning. I've had a blissful day with the hubby and am looking forward to having days off again! Bit it did seem to plod along until in the last few weeks you're trying to get all the last minute things done and juggling calls from vendors. And don't gets started on how fast the day will fly by!

I think time moves faster and faster the closer you get to your date. It might depend on what else is going on though..

This is the first summer in my entire life that I've hoped would go by quickly. And it has!

I am now just under the 9 month mark and I am freaking out. I feel like I have no time left. I was looking through my planner for 2013/2014 and between appts for our wedding, me traveling to do brides weddings (I'm a hairstylist), my son's bday party, friends weddings (4 of them between july and November ugh), moving in 3 weeks and hopefully working (interview today), Vacation at the end of august, I have no idea when I'm going to find time to think. I know the time is going to go way to quick. Plus starting in October FH will start working 50 hrs a week. seriously someone shoot me now lol

When I hit the year mark I thought it would take forever but looking back with less than 8 weeks to go, I feel like it flew by. Give it about 7 or 8 months and I'd venture to guess youll be thinking "where has the time gone?" as well lol

I felt this way when I first got engaged in January and I had 14 months to wait. February and March just dragged on but I swear April - June have just flown by! I am now under the 9 month mark and just like Leanna I have no idea when I am going to have time to do all this! But my FH and I work full time, I am going to schools nights for my BA and he is just about to start his 2 year MBA program.

I literally do one small thing per night to slowly chip away at everything because if I wait and let it pile up I will be in trouble.

I have about 2 years and even though I've started to think about it I'm happy for the time. Once I have to start shelling out the dough I think I'll be grateful for the time!

We started planning about 14 months out so for me the time has gone really fast. I had a lot of diy projects that kept me going till just recently and i'm really happy i started them when i did or i would be very stressed now. Hope it goes quicker for you Smiley smile

While I was living it, it felt like it took forever (we had an 11 month engagement) but looking back, that year FLEW by and so much happened. I graduated college, we bought a house, adopted a dog, and planned a wedding. The day itself was over in the blink of an eye and while I don't really miss the planning, I do miss the excitement of the 3 months leading up to the wedding. That's when I had my showers and bachelorette party and all the little things done.

I remember when we were 9 months out and feeling like I had FOR-EV-ER.

At first it went really slow and I felt like I had all the time in the world. Then I hit 100 days and it seemed to start flying. Now I am at 46 days and it seems like time is fast forwarding too much. I have a love/hate relationship with planning as most brides probably do, but I think I will be sad when it is over and I don't have it taking up all of my time. I can see the bridal depression in the future...mainly because I am not going on my honeymoon til a month after.
