I'm thinking about using labels to address my wedding invitations?

I don't want it to look tacky. Has anyone does this? What website did you use? I should have put them right on the envelopes but I didn't of that until too late.

I would totally use labels as well... Make sure to do a test run first so they aren't all crooked and messed up looking. Smiley smile

I ordered labels through the etsy store Postalbee- only about $80 for our 50 invited labels and rsvp return labels

I did calligraphy on mine but I think labels are fine. I use the clear ones all the time for work, they are great. Most standard size labels have templates built into word. And I would recommend using mail merge from excel, it will make it a lot easier. Printing directly in your envelopes could also be an option too, depending on your printer. My printer eats envelopes whenever I try to send them through, so labels are better.

    @ Jillian,

Could you email me your word doc? I have 5x7 envelopes!

I did, I got the matching ones to my invite suite from zazzle and I also have matching envelope closures and return address labels. And I don't care if someone thinks it's tacky at this point. They can feel free to handwrite them for me if they feel strongly about it.

I did ours by hand, with a ball point pen. It does not smear if they get wet. Several people have made comments about the ribbon I tied them with on the inside, but not the address. People throw the envelopes away anyway.

Avery Clear labels from Amazon...the envelops get tossed in the trash. Both my handwriting and FH's is horrible and we have 210+ invites. Labels were the logical and economic choice.

The company included the return address on the RSVP envelops.

My invitation envelopes were a heavy brown and gold pattern so it was impossible to write on them. I bought gold labels and mail merged/printed - so easy! Check out fancy label options on Amazon.

I used clear Avery labels like most of the other commenters! About 6 of them didn't come out correctly and I hand wrote and couldn't imagine hand writing more than that. It's an envelope, most people throw them away.

You can also print directly on the envelopes with a fancy font if you have Photoshop. I do my Christmas cards like that! Smiley smile

I did Labels and I don't regret it one bit! It was so much easier. I just did Clear for the Wedding Invites and White for our post card save the dates.

I had grocery bag-type paper envelopes and even clear labels looked like tape on them, yuck. I printed the addresses on each envelope in a light colour and then wrote over them in white paint pen.

I personally like the way handwritten looks better than labels, but totally understand some people needing a more efficient way to do them. And I agree, most everyone tosses them anyway.

My plan is to print on the envelope, I just downloaded some free calligraphy fonts yesterday to test out. We hand wrote the STDs and I'm not doing that again. We will do labels if printing directly on the envelope becomes a pain since the envelopes are just going to end up in the trash. We ordered a stamp with our return address on it through etsy.

I used labels for my STDs and would have for my invitations if FMIL would have been unwilling to write them for us.
