I'm scared of having to pee to much during our wedding day...

FutureMrsChang, on April 21, 2015 at 6:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 30

My dress is fit n flare as I mentioned before. It has a pretty full skirt, which of course will only make it that much harder to pee. I know I will need help. I am a social drinker, so of course I plan on drinking mainly at the reception. I just don't want to waist too much in the bathroom. Whenever I drink and I "break the seal" I feel like I am running to the restroom every 20 min, which is okay because normally I am not in a wedding gown! For all the married ladies.. did you really have that much trouble going to the restroom and did it take like 10 min.? I know this is a weird question, but I have a feeling I'm going to keep having disappear every half hour for like 10 mins?! Am I over thinking this?

P.s. Sorry if TMI- just curious.

Lol. This is totally one of those things that has me nervous too. I'm scared I'll accidentally pee on my dress. I'm scared of having to go so many times.

But if it helps, my friend actually told me right after she put the dress on, she didn't have to pee the whole night. I'm just hoping that's how it is on our day, too.

Lol, that's another thing I'm scared of!

I'm really hoping I don't have to pee until after the reception, but I actually went dress shopping a couple weekends ago for my Bm dresses and we had brunch and each had about two beers and I had to pee really bad half way through my second one! Lol. Maybe I should train my bladder..if that's even possible?

I honestly peed 1 time after I put on the dress. I went right before, and then about 5 hours later when we got to reception hall and then made it until we got to hotel. You can train your bladder I suppose, by waiting as long as you can go to bathroom. Good luck with that.

I peed once. I was a bit dehydrated but all the sweating on the dance floor helped too.

Before the ceremony, I had to pee like every 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure it was just my nerves but I shouldn't have put on my dress so soon! During the reception, I only peed once.

This is another thing that you shouldn't stress over because you can't really help it lol.

I stupidly broke my seal early so I peed about 4 times from cocktail hour through reception. My maid of honor helped and I stepped towards the toilet backwards (facing the wall) so it was pretty easy even though I wore a fit and flare.

I am lucky in that I have the bladder of a nurse. I do home care and refuse to stop in bad neighborhoods to pee, and won't use most patients bathrooms. Only a handful I would use.

Being that I have a shy bladder and cannot pee within earshot of anyone, I've worried about this for a long time! My dress is an A-line and when I tried it on, I was able to get it on and off without any help (a huge plus!), granted it was too big for me, but I'm hoping when mine comes in, it's just as easy. If so, I figured I would just take it off when I have to go to the bathroom, if not, I'm screwed.

I normally can't sit through a 1.5 hour class without getting up to pee at least once, but on my wedding day, I went once before leaving for the wedding, once at the reception, and then not until we were at our hotel. I don't really have any advice other than don't drink too much.

It's actually not good for you to hold your pee. For the most part I am like a camel but some days I am like a leaky faucet lol. I am making sure my dress fits in a way I can sit down to eat and pee. I think the best way is to make sure the majority of your liquid intake is before you get ready for the day and dressed. Lol I am going to wait until the very last moment I can to put my dress on.

I figured out a way of throwing my train over my shoulder and wrapping it around my neck so it stayed there while I peed. It was kinda fun. Like a toga.

This is like my #1 wedding issue right now. lol. I've got a super tight mermaid dress that, due to my recent rediscovery of amazing cheeseburgers, I can't even sit down in. #oops So I have to take the whole thing off if I need to pee. And get someone to tie up the corset which right now I have no idea who that will be. Literally freaking out.

So... not much practical advice to give, but just letting you know I have the same fear lol.

I've heard that if you go at the toilet facing it instead of backing up to it, that makes peeing a lot easier. Going pee isn't my fear.... It's the other one I'm afraid of.

LOL @AlexisM082 - I'm in the same boat. I have IBS so I will be popping lots of drugs to avoid any unpleasantness. I have a tulle ballgown so it could be a problem. Peeing is the least of my worries

OMG; most Brides will at first think this is weird or gross (or maybe because it is "taboo"), but the smartest and easiest ting to do is wear a small cute wedding diaper (especially even just for emergency). The products available are thin, white tight fitting and unnoticeable (especially if the smaller forms will fit- even x-large Pullups would work for some. My bladder is also demanding and I have worn firm fitting diapers and small white plastic panties for many things that may put you in a situation where there is no bathroom convenient (Travel, theater, Disneyland, etc...) It is not embarrassing and I have even worn them with a Mermaid type dress on a cruise and you couldn't even tell. My girlfriend wore some at her wedding and it was very helpful. I will also again be wearing a diaper and a pair of white plastic panties for my second wedding coming up. I'm 32 now, and have been doing this for at least 10 years. My fiancee obviously already knows, and even thinks this is kind of fun or kinky. If you wear them right, they don't sag, or become baggy, smell, irritate or make noise. I guess you would just have to try them, to see if it is right for you. You can get some form of incontinent panty anywhere. Adultclothddiapers.com has the plastic panties, even in bikini style; and all stores carry all types and sizes of diapers, even x-large Pullups work for at least 1 emergency pee (I use "Northshore.com" supplier- mostly small Attends). Good luck. Hope this helps. And if not, don't judge. So many people use these but don't talk about it.

I went to the bathroom a lot (by myself). I had a ballgown and weirdly enough, that pee facing the toilet thing worked fine and I didn't need any help.

HAHAHA just remembering this aspect of my wedding day. I was SOOOO nervous before the ceremony and then again before our choreographed first dance. When I get nervous I have to go to the bathroom.

I am a very modest person and don't pee in front of other girls ever. I had to get over that FAST! I had a huge tulle ballgown which required 2 BMs to help with it each time.

Don't worry about it, it will happen and it won't be a huge deal after the first time.
