I'm paying for my wedding myself

For those of you that paid for your own wedding; how long did it take to save? How much did you end up spending total?

Salty is an adjective, not a noun.

    Are you fucking kidding me?

You're upset someone called someone salty?

    Wow- how old are you?

I call my EVERYONE in my life salty- including me.

    Salty- is just. a word.

if I called someone a ***tnugget- well that might be different. But i"m not. No one has.

    Salty- it's like been cranky.

when did calling someone cranky become rude and offensive. Jesus.H.

Calling someone "salty" isnt name calling. Calling someone salty is the same thing as saying someone is bitter or upset. How is that mean???

I know you weren't Angelique. I, unlike you, have been around here longer than a hot second.

I'm still saying Get. Over. It.

@BeachyLauren no. The first post was that we just talk about the topic instead of arguing over something cuz it got heated and I didn't see a sense in fighting about it sense whomever it was did not want to hear the information that was being put out. Then I said there was no need to call people salty. And that I didn't think this would turn into a 401k argument and that we could just talk about it as adults and not be rude by calling each other things like salty. But I would kindly stop saying anything if people would stop talking about it. I don't really want to keep repeating myself. I thought it got heated you all didn't. We are at a disagreement. That's it. There is no more to say.

Can someone forreal explain how "salty" is rude. So it would be rude to say "Alex is angry" or "Nancy is bitter" or "Rob is upset"?????

I guess where I'm from people use it in a ruder context. They don't really mean it in a semi-nice way at all

No one is saying this in a nice way. But it's just a descriptor.

    LIke "someone's being bitchy"

you're not CALLING them a bitch- you're describing their demeanor.

these are not the same things.

    Where do you live?

SeptMrsV and Houligan, glad I could add to your twatcabulary lol

For the record, salty is nothing. If someone gets called "butthurt", that would be more offensive in my book (and still not even offensive, just slightly worse).

Up in NH but they say it sneeringly, mostly when they don't like someone or in the context of someone being a salty ass bitch. It's never used in any sort of normal conversation like this. @JoRocka

    HA.

    I use "salty" almost every.fucking.day.

But if you live up north in NH- that explains. A lot.

lurk more- you'll get used to it.

@JoRocka I guess I'll have to lurk more.it makes more sense when you tell me you use it in everyday life. But yeah NH, we are not all in the lingo thing or don't use it correctly a lot from my experience

My coworker is from vermont- he's a snarky mofo- but I can see the "super north" in him. so I get it. you'll be okay- lurk and watch- it'll make sense. Smiley smile you're on the right path.

We aren't awful- we are awesome actually and when people are in need- we are frequently the first to come through for a bride/groom on here.

But we aren't willy wonka- we aren't sugar coating it. That doesn't mean we are terrible though- we're bristly lovable porcupines- but we are lovable if you get involved with the community itself.
