I'm 4 Months...how Far Out are You??

Danica, on November 14, 2019 at 4:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi Brides to Be!

After dawdling for almost a year and not being happy with ANY venue we saw, we finally found one that we like, went ahead and booked. The kicker? I am now planning a wedding in 4 months for March 29th, 2020.

We're going small and intimate (17 people max), as this is my second wedding and I did the big shabang once upon a time. 11:30am, Brunch reception at a local restaurant after the ceremony.

I sent out my digital Save the Dates today, and I just have to DIY my invitations and signs to go out in December (thankfully the venue already has decor...very little has to be added). They are already designed off of a template, I jsut have to put them together, Hello Michael's and all of your cardstock!

I plan events for a living, so you'd think this would be a piece of cake....I just don't like planniong events for myself because it's my day job for everyone else!

BEsides the items on the WW checklist, what am I missing right away to think about? Still researching flowers, makeup and hair. I've had my dress since January, and we already have the rings.

Maybe just shoes. Sounds like you have everything in order. I'm 11 months out from my big day.

11 months remaining and this is also a second wedding for FH and I. We are also having a small wedding (65 guests) and we’re finished with all the planning and booked all the vendors. Funny because, like you, I was a wedding planner for 10 years. I don’t do it anymore. But the skill never leaves and I’m able to make decisions quickly about what I want. So I booked every vendor within about a week after signing our venue contract.

I’m not sure what’s on the WW checklist because I didn’t use it. But, for us, we only have remaining to do: create a wedding website, decide on invitations (we already have our save the dates) and figure out our honeymoon plans.

I am 3 weeks out!! December 7th!! We can’t wait. Honestly, I planned my entire wedding in about 2.5 months. I didn’t plan on it that fast but we were like why not. Plus we didn’t want to wait an entire year There was some stressful times but it’ll all work out. Having a shorter time to plan means you have to be decided on things and I actually kind of liked that.

I still have a few things to do but it’s small things. My only advice would be to let family and friends help! My in-laws to be were such a huge help. His grandma is making our cake, our photographer is his dad’s friend, we’ve been given money and his cousin gave me a bridal shower! If you have anyone in your family that is crafty or have any special talents, I would ask.
Another note: I wouldn’t ask for money, I would wait for someone to offer. I guess that the rule every bride has given me haha.
    Good luck and congrats!!!

I’m a little over a year and a half out D: it feels so far away, especially since we’re largely at a stand still until June as the national park doesn’t book until 1 year out. It’s going to be a smaller affair though, 60 people invited, expecting about 40 to be able to go.

Two and a half months for us second marriage. Sounds like you have everything covered. Our concern is our playlist music for the reception. Hoping no interruptions using Pandora will do a practice run 2 days before wedding.
