My venue allows us to have 2 mixed drinks picked out, which the bar tender will mix for us so long as we provide all of the ingredients needed to make the drinks. We are having our wedding in the summer at an outdoor venue, and I was thinking something that was fresh and popular was a good way to go.

Not being much of a drinker myself unless the alcohol literally tastes like candied syrup (i.e., I'm into the SUPER girly drinks), I was wondering what drinks were popular and would love to hear any opinions on what drinks anyone on here would prefer.

Personally, I was thinking maybe mojitos and strawberry daiquiris. BTW~I'm looking for mixed drinks only. We'll also be serving the usual (beer, wine, shots of hard liquor, etc.)

Sangria is a personal favorite, but to make it properly the fruit needs to soak in the alcohol ovber night. So I'm not sure if this would work for you.

I'd suggest margaritas, and my personal favorite: raspberry vodka, sprite, and a splash of cranberry juice. Smiley smile

@ Samantha N. ~ Our wedding colors are light rose pink and turquoise as an accent color. I was thinking about maybe serving cotton candy mixed drinks, since we are having a cotton candy machine at our wedding, but I've never heard of these drinks before Wedding Magazines introduced them to me, so I don't know if they're good or not.

You're supposed to start with a cotton candy fluff in a martini glass, and then pour vodka on it when the drinks are ready to serve.

@ Future Mrs. M ~ I love Sangria Preparadas! Have you ever had these? It's Sangria with red wine, it's AMAZING!

So far, mojitos seem to be a popular choice...

My venue is having the servers greet each guest with champagne and sparkling water upon entry to the cocktail hour. It will cut down on the mad dash to the bar and is just light enough that it should appeal to the masses. We didn't do a signature drink because our crowd really is very particular about alcohol so it would go to waste. If we were doing a signature though strawberry daiquiris would get my vote. Good luck.

Since you will have all the usual, I would go with Sangria and Mojito - super classy and cooling!

I love mojitos. The only problem with them is getting the "essence", be it spearmint or fruit from the pestal and mortar. They can be time consuming to make.

I love Malibu Bay Breezes, and they are pink.

I didn't read all the posts, so I'm not sure fi this was already suggested, but Mojitos and spiked lemonade are good summer drinks Smiley smile

Edited to say: since one of your colors is pink - you could do pink lemonade!

I also love Sex on the Beach, but my new favorite drink is actually an old-fashioned summertime beverage that is super light and fresh and YUMMY! Out here in CA, the old drinks are coming back into style.

    It's a white linen- here's a link to a recipe

I am NOT a fan of gin, but this drink is YUMMY!! Another bonus is it's not overly fruity, so the men will enjoy it too.

I would say a jolly rancher, or midori sour, (very girly and sweet)
@ Esther, they serve those at Friday's. The pink drink is too sweet. I actually prefer the blue one.

Also, I'm a fan of mojitostoo, but rum gives me a headache and they have to be made perfectly, otherwise they are aweful.

White sangria yum! a wine based drink is going to be less expensive, and really, having your guests downing several ounces of vodka at a clip? maybe not.

I'd do a white sangria and margueritas or maybe a prosecco based drink. One of my cool brides did a prosecco bar, with the BT just pouring the prosecco and then little bowls of berries, mango pieces, and orange slices to add. It went over like crazy!

    Paradise Punch

    Jolly rancher

    Strawberry Coloda

That's all I can think of for now.
