If you became pregnant before your wedding....

Lets assume you got pregnant in time to be saying "I do" with an enormous belly, what would you do? Would you still get married like planned, maybe a new dress to look better with a big belly? Or would you move your wedding to a different date? I don't know why I keep thinking about this but I think...

I don't know why I keep thinking about this but I think one of my biggest worries (rational or not Smiley winking ) would be to get pregnant right now. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure I would still have the wedding and not move it. I would be ok with waddling down the aisle...

What about you ladies?

We would move the wedding. I worked WAY too hard to find my dream dress... and we can't have a Swan Lake-inspired wedding with the bride not exactly looking like a ballerina, now, can we? x-P (I mean, anything is possible, but ya know.)

It would depend largely on how far along I would be. If I was going to be less than 6 months along, I'd get a different dress, maybe scale the wedding back a bit (or not, I don't know) and go for it. I say 6 months, because my son was born 12 weeks early, literally the day I hit 28 weeks, and due to a condition I have, I have a 50/50 chance of premature birth, particularly after the 6th month.

If I got pregnant now though, or anytime between now and the wedding, FH and I would both be thrilled. There's a lot that we're going to have to be going through to be able to have children together, so after that (which may be happening in the next month or so, depending on various factors) if it happens, then yay, because children together are something we both really want/look forward to.

I would probably throw all my wedding plans out the window and move my wedding date up.

I would waddle my pregnant butt right down the aisle on my wedding day and say "I do" in the same way I would without the baby belly. Smiley smile

I've also been thinking about this.. I keep worrying this will happen. I think money wise I would postpone the wedding or just do the best I could on a smaller budget. I'm not really worried about looking pregnant when getting married but I think I would be stressed about money depending on how far along I was when the wedding took place. I would rather prepare for the baby then pay all this money to get married. I might even go to the courthouse to get married and throw a nice reception later on.

It depends on how close to the wedding for me, if it was a couple months i would keep the date and everything. But if it over 3 months away we would either move the date up or just go get married and have the wedding later. Because our parents would freak.

FH sister got pregnant and got married two weeks later because she did not want people to find out till after she was married.

This is one of my worst fears!!! not because i dont want babies. we definitely want babies. but because there is no chance in hell i could fit into my dress. i really want to wear my dream dress, you know? so i think i'd either keep the date and make FH take pics with me in my dream dress before i started showing, or move the date.

Shannon A: OMG, you know, I didn't think about doing that, but I honestly LOVE that idea! Getting FH to take pics with me in my (current and much loved) dress, and then changing it for the wedding itself if I were pregnant.

There's no way that I'd fit in my current dress if I was pregnant either, so I totally understand that train of thought!

FH and I both want babies though, and honestly, we're 100% okay with it happening at any time. Just have to have a few things taken care of first, so it's possible. Smiley smile

I'd probably get married in a park or somewhere by a friend in a private ceremony, and tell no one because that would be between my, my groom and the bedpost.

people have been calling the shots on how to celebrate anniversaries and specials days for centuries. I just like to think we have more choices now.

I'd probably move the wedding date to something after the baby was born and a certain age.

for several reasons, I'd want to make sure that everything was as legal as possible for myself and the baby with as little stress as possible

    weddings are certainly stressful!

I think if there's anything that a person should be able to do there way in their own way is their day as a bride. I do know a woman before people got married legally&so often had their weddings later.

she wanted to wait until after her first was born because she wanted the day she'd dreamed of-that didn't include being pregnant. she got pregnant again, was a pregnant bride&felt she never bonded with her 2nd (cont)

Cont- she felt because her day of being a bride was ruined. I know that says more about her problems then anything, but considering how IMO easily she could have been legally married with both children and still have the day of her dreams, it just makes me so sad.

it didn't have to go that way.

This is SO one of my biggest fears! I still don't know what I would do... We're 7 months from our wedding date and lets just say there's not a lot of action going on right now... we are both so busy working/planning it hasn't become a big deal lol

I made very sure that wasn't a possibility because I wouldn't move my wedding date and I don't want to be a pregnant bride.

I would cancel the wedding and use the deposit to host a baby shower instead. We would get married in Vegas by the end of the year.

I really have no idea...It was a huge fear of mine!

If I was only a month or two along I would probably still keep the same/date plans but it would suck not drinking...but otherwise I would probably wait until after the baby was born.
