Ideas needed for champagne bubble wedding theme

Michelle P, on February 21, 2013 at 5:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

A few months ago I found a great sale on clear glass ornaments with a pearly finish at a craft store so I bought a ton of them. My wedding theme is champagne bubbles (there is an awesome bubble chandelier at the hotel venue which inspired my theme). My colors are plum and champagne. I'm trying to think of how to use the ornaments at the tables, but want them to look like bubbles, not ornaments (September wedding). I don't want them as centerpieces, I want centerpieces to be flowers with led lights and water bubbles in the vases. I was thinking of using the ornaments somehow in table numbers or name cards for the guests but I'm not having luck with any ideas. I wanted to make a big bubble circle by attaching them to a foam ball (think a bubble kissing ball) but it looked awful and you could see the styrofoam through the bubbles. Does anyone have a creative idea for me? Smiley smile

Maybe tie them all together along a long ribbon in bunches with bows, that way the silver tops don't show and they just look like foam and bubbles.

kind of like this "~~~oOooOOoooo~~~" hahahah kind of lame drawing, but thats how i picture it

THanks for the ideas so far. I don't need to hang anything from the ceiling, the venue's ceiling has cool bubble looking lights. And unfortunately with the snowflake table numbers, those have flat bottoms to get them to stand up straight, mine are completely round, maybe I could weight the bottom somehow? I don't think I have enough for one per guest to do seating names, but I could recount them and see. Also, didn't mention, I have two sizes, mini and regular.

I'm not sure about the ornaments, but another decoration idea would be the gel candles that look like they have bubbles in them. You could probably even find some that look like champagne glasses or make your own.

You said the foam ball decoration you tried showed the foam. Could you maybe wrap the foam in tulle, ribbon or tissue paper or something else decorative so the foam doesn't show?

I haven't tried to cover the foam ball with anything, that may work. I'll have to try it. I sort of thought of that, but then never did try it because I was just frustrated with it and kind of gave up first. I also do like the champagne glass idea too. I don't think I'd put those on the table too, but like you said near the bar or something like that could be cute. Smiley smile
