Ideas for special wedding gift for future husband?

Aubrey, on April 1, 2019 at 10:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 20
Is anyone giving their groom a gift on your wedding day or possibly the night before? I really want to make/buy something special, but I'm not sure what! Neither of us is into super fancy or expensive stuff, and we're having a casual wedding, so things like cuff links or a watch aren't a good fit for him. Comment any ideas or tell me what you're giving your man! Thanks in advance!!!

I'm thinking I'll probably try to do a couples massage the week/weekend before. Neither of us have really thought about it, but I know something relaxing would be the best. I'd rather spend the money on an "experience" than something he'll never use.

I’m making a “Our Story” book. I got this huge learher bound book that I didn’t know what to do with so I started filling it with moments from when we first met all the way up to our wedding day. I have special sayings and tons of pictures and explaining what we did and sorta how I felt at the time. I plan on writing him a letter in it the night before or morning of our wedding.

    Hi Aubrey!

Have you and your FH decided on a budget for your gifts?

Here are some ideas I thought would be sweet and casual Smiley smile

    1. Sew something thoughtful inside his suit or tie (somewhere it won't show). Something like your wedding date, a love note, initials, etc.

    2. Leave a love note in the pocket of his suit or wedding day outfit.

    3. A homemade mixtape! Use something like Apple music or Spotify to create a playlist of your special songs, or any love songs for him to enjoy the morning of the wedding.

    4. A framed keepsake. Do you have any mementos from your first dates? Such as a movie ticket stub or a receipt? Pop them in a memory box that he can keep forever.

Do you like any of these ideas? I personally love number 4! I keep everything so this would be super easy for me to do!

All really good ideas! He has no idea I'm going to do something for him and it would probably never occur to him to get me anything haha but I just want to surprise him. The last one is great but I can't do it sadly because our first date was breakfast at Chickfila.

I have terrible memory but I take lots of pictures which also helps figure out dates of things lol I will warn you that it did turn out to be a lot more work than I originally expected but I’m glad you like it! Good luck with whatever your final decision is! 😊

I think I might get him a nice bottle of bourbon. He likes to have a glass with the guys for special occasions, what's more special than our wedding lol

I am doing a boudoir shoot and will have that made into an album, and will also probably get him an engraved watch!

Now this is a great idea that hadn't even crossed my mind - some extra pre-wedding relaxation sounds perfect! This is definitely going on my list, but I'll probably still get him a nice etched decanter and some bourbon from the distillery we're having our wedding at - something fancy that he's wanted, but will realistically never buy himself.

We'll probably splurge on some drinks while on the honeymoon - so I may buy him a bottle there, but we kind of said no gifts (he's not the greatest gift giver anyway) so not going too wild. He's already stressed about the wedding and hasn't even planned anything other than the guys attire. *sigh* Guys.

Love hearing your ideas! Alcohol is not an option because he is only 20 and we don't drink anyways. Something to de-stress is a good thought though!

I found a journal on Amazon for "The Last 100 Days of Our Engagement". A cute sentimental gift. Also inexpensive.

I got my husband an engraved leather wallet with his initials off of Etsy, he needed a new one anyway. I also got him some Oakley sunglasses because we were going on a beach honeymoon and I knew he'd enjoy them after that too. None of the classic watch or cufflinks are him at all and I figured he'd rather have something he'd actually use after the wedding.

I made my FH a Lovebook. He's a little sappy and fun so I thought this would be perfect for him.

Mine FH is a pretty simple guy, no fuss. I think i'm going to get him an engraved money clip. It's practical so money isn't loose in his pocket and/or falling out like it does, and I can personalize it. Not sure what i'll have engraved yet, probably one of his pet names or "1985" for when we first dated.

I’m gifting him a photo blanket of his childhood pup that passed a few years ago. I wanted a sentimental gift instead of an expensive one.

I’m getting mine a nice engraved pocket watch. Something he can pass down to our children.
