Ideas for bachelorette party?

Samantha, on May 14, 2013 at 12:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I am a pretty laid back person and I don't know what to tell my girls that I want to do for my bachelorette party. They want me to give them 4 or 5 ideas and then they will pick some stuff so it's still a surprise. I know that I want to do a toy party and that I don't want to do a stripper. One girl suggested a wine tasting, but in general, I don't have any ideas for big activities. They were thinking about starting it in mid-afternoon, and then evening would be like the toy party, drinking, games, etc. So, what I am really needing suggestion for is the mid-afternoon part. They said to pick stuff I like to do...I work all the time and don't have time for much...I watch movies, crochet, and read...none of which is particularly bachelorette party-worthy. Any ideas for things that aren't overly wild and crazy but are fun and may have a bit of naughty to them? lol

Oh, and none of the people in my party particularly has money, so things like spa days are a bit out of the question.

Depending on where you live... Some cities offer fun busses. For example I'm taking a fun bus to wendover for one night. It only cost about 20.00 per person (which isn't bad when you consider gas and they give you free drinks and free buffet card).

That is funny that you had those ideas because I planned my friends bachelorette party that was Saturday and we went to a winery for a wine tasting, had a toy party, and then went out on a party bus to a few bars! lol We ordered food in between the winery and toy party and had a good time just chatting with each other. I don't know where you live, but mini golfing or bowling is fun in a group and would fill up time in the afternoon. If you live in a city, some places offer private pole and chair dancing lessons.

I second the pole dancing lessons....those are fun! Wine tasting also sounds good. I personally am going to the zoo then dinner and drinks in the evening.

Comedy club? A wine and cheese party?

We're going to a drag show in LA that I can't wait for! It should be fun but a little saucy too!

All of that sounds like a lot of fun. The Knot was no help on this..."go to a big city", "do a destination bachelorette party"...they just don't seem to consider those on a budget.

I like the pole dancing lesson idea or winery idea (but I might be bias as I'm getting married at a winery lol) you could also do a baseball game in the afternoon, a Segway tour if you're near a city, I went to a drag show brunch in DC once for a bachelorette party and it was a lot of fun! Where will your party be?

We are renting a room at a casino/hotel not far from my house...that way we can drink, spend as much (or little) as we want gambling, eat great food and play by the pool. My wild BM wanted to have a private party at this all male revue...but male strippers make me laugh so hard I can barely breathe and FH was gobsmacked by the idea... lol

Do any of you cook? You could always do a food gathering. Everyone bring the items to cook their fave dish, drink while you cook, and do your toy party.

We're doing an obstacle course in the late morning, lunch together, get dressed and eat dinner separate to do toy party, and meet guys at the bar.

My bridesmaids actually planned a weekend for me - we found a 2 bedroom/2bath condo on treasure island that ended up being 58 per person total or 29 per night, which was a steal. We're going to bring our own adult beverages, and lay out by the beach, and go to dinner. The island also has the Jolly Trolley, which is like 3 bucks a day for unlimited rides.

My sister suggested a scavenger hunt around town but a friend told me about geocaching...

You could do a scavenger hunt. It would be as cheap as your BMs made it, and could be like a bar crawl as well. Last year I planned a bachelorette at the horse race track (which was AMAZING) and one with a wine tasting and cupcake decorating class. Both went over really well and were very fun. Good luck!

I love finding people that are as much geeks as myself. I absolutely love Cards Against Humanity...best game ever! Made my own version. Geocaching is also a blast. It all just depends on amount of people too.

    Hmmm

I was all up for a take away and a at home spa (do our nails, buy some facials etc) which we are still doing. but my BFs insisted that we should go out so we will also go to a bar/club (that we'll get into free because of a friend and drink cheaply but it is a very very nice bar/club)

not on the same night/weekend and going out you wont know it is a hen do.

One thing I see rising in popularity are these "painting cafes" where people paint along with an instructor in a relaxed envionment. Could be a way to start a night of fun.

Spa day!!! even if its just having your nail done.

roadtrip to a fun place in your area!

glow in the dark mini golfing.

    dinner and movies.

Rent a boat if you have a lake or river near by. Many offers boat rentals with a driver, pack some food, drinks, and a batteried powered deviced to play music. In my area $250 for eight hours up to 12ppl for a nice pontoon boat.

Rent a room at hotel or state park lodge, go swimming all day, then for the night rent movies, play games, maybe even drink and have like a last girls sleep over party.
