Super November 2016

I would REALLY appreciate it if a few of you could double check my invitation proofs!

auberginequeen, on August 25, 2016 at 6:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

Hi! Could you all double check my invitation proofs? Please especially pay attention to whether you think the wording/design on the RSVP card makes sense.

I would super appreciate it! Thank you all in advance!

Here's the front and back of the invitation, RSVP card in comments!

Because it's kinda small on here, here is the text on the back of the invite (under the photo): For more information about the Vick - Cross Wedding, please visit our wedding website listed below. There you will find helpful information such as how to reserve discounted hotel accommodations, directions, information about the Gainesville area, and more.

You may also submit your RSVP online in lieu of mailing us the enclosed card. Please RSVP by Saturday, October 22nd.

You need to probably upload your proofs to something like google documents and link it to here. It looks like you linked to the file on your computer instead.

ETA: Another option: make the proofs into .jpgs . Right now it is .pdf which is not an image file.

I would let go of the line that says "about the vick-cross wedding" since it's not necessary. Just go directly from "for more information" to the "please visit" line.

I'm also not a big fan of the all caps in the information card. Feels like I'm being yelled at.

I think they look really nice. Two things I noticed- on the information card it says "about the Vick-Cross wedding," I would change that comma to a colon (so it reads "About the Vick-Cross Wedding:")

and on the RSVP where it says (number attending) maybe have a little blank space there to designate where to write in the number?

I think they look very nice! I agree with Bee...you can get rid of "about the Vick-cross wedding"

@Ashley...there's already a blank spot in front of that line to write in the number attending.

    You're welcome!

I agree with @Bee about the explanation on the back. I'd simplify it down at least to something along the lines of "For more information about the Vick-Cross Wedding, accommodations, and more, please visit our website" if not simply "For more information about the Vick-Cross Wedding, please visit our website".

Also, I'd make "For More Information" the same font as the rest since it is a very busy font and people can overlook it as an embellishment (which I think AshleyR did upon reading it). If you want to keep it, I'd make it a bigger font/have an underline/have little graphics on both sides of the line to clue people in how to read it.

The only thing I would suggest (since those above seem to have covered it) is maybe investing in paper RSVPs for older guests. If you don't have any, then ignore me!

On the RSVP card, you have "Names of those attending" above the name field. If I were declining, I might be confused by this. I would just change that to "Name(s)" instead.

Otherwise, beautiful invitations! Is it gold foil?

Very beautiful invitations. The only things that bug me are all the fonts. There seems to be a number of them. Also on the information card how everything is capitalised. I know it's just a personal choice but I feel like you're yelling information at me.

The other thing is you have dates written out three different ways. I would pick one and be consistent. These are obviously very minor details and if you sent them out as-is they would be lovely.

I keep going back and looking for the space to write in the number attending and I still don't see anything...all I see is the white box to check "Accepts with pleasure" then there should be another line to write in # attending. Unless you're supposed to write the number in that white box if you're coming but check the white" declines with regret" box if you're not. Which is obviously confusing me.

I think I would give yourself more time for the RSVPs–you have your deadline as Oct. 22, but your wedding is Nov. 5, which is only a little over 2 weeks. I'd pad that more (I know my caterers want numbers that far out, so you wouldn't have time to track anyone down). Love the design!

Thank you all so much for your feedback! It's really helpful. I definitely agree with the all caps, in fact it was one of the things I was thinking about before! I did all fonts and caps etc. with the default design, but I'm going to see if it can be changed for sure!

I will also get rid of Vick - Cross wedding thanks!

I think I have to keep the diamond thing rather than other blanks or it will look weird.

@Sprezz thanks I will definitely take that suggestion and yes! It is gold foil, I fell in love despite that I thought I would go super cheap on the invites, lol. Oh well!
