Anyone else doing a chocolate fountain? What are you going to have for dipping? I would love strawberries but not sure if they will be in season in November. YUM!

@L. Turtle: It doesn't have to be half vegetable oil. See info about on Paramount Crystals.

I am not knocking the shrimp idea...after all, I absolutely LOVE french fries dipped in a chocolate milk shake, so you never know!

We're having one. Caterer didn't wanna do it at first because of the oil issue, but we tracked down a chocolatier in Jersey that provides chocolate that can be drawn through the fountain. Not sure if he uses the Paramount Crystals mentioned earlier tho or not. We're also doing skewers. It will be set up like a candy bar, so the dipping choices will be in different containers, sticking out by the skewers.

As much as I love chocolate fondue and the idea of a chocolate fountain, the idea of having it at such a big even is kinda gross. You can't tell what people's food picking/handling habits are. I cringe at those I see at buffets where people double dip fruit and what not in said fountains. D:

We are having one. I think the dippers are an assortment of fuite (strawberries included and I'm getting married in November), pretzels, brownies, marshmellows, cookies and some other stuff.

We were going to have one but our venue says it has to be outside, due to the mess, which was fine by me. Then my dad reminded me that if a bug were to fly into the chocolate and get stuck, which it probably would...that would be the end of the fountain! I wouldn't want everything to go to waste. So instead we are going to have a fondue pot to have melted chocolate in and keep inside Smiley smile Hopefully it will be less messy too and easier to clean up!
