Well yesterday at 6:00 PM was my appointment for my final fitting. I got there at 5:45 as I always arrive at appointments 15 minutes early. Well yesterday at 6:00 PM was my appointment for my final fitting. I got there at 5:45 as I always arrive at appointments 15 minutes early. Well when I got there they informed me that they just called me and that my dress was not ready. Well I got a little upset but whatever. So they informed me that it would be ready this morning. I asked them several times that it would definitely be ready and they said yes. I wasn't happy as I had plans today but I went ahead and canceled them and got up to go to my new appointment. I drove across town and when I arrived they informed me that it STILL was not ready. Well now I am really starting to get upset. My parents informed me that I was acting like a child and that I needed to cool it. So I cooled it and left the store. Went to my parents house and waited around all day for them to call me. Come 3PM I still had not heard from them so my mom called and they informed me that the dress was done. So my mom asked them to double check. (Cont.)

Ok well I have my dress!!!! Thank goodness. The dress looks amazing!!! My mom was going to try and get a tiara out of them but she didn't like any of their tiaras. Well we told them what was happening with the tiara we had so they gave me a bag full of the remnants from my dress and we are going to attach those pearls onto my tiara to replace the ones that are falling off. Well then we pulled out my sash and to try it on with everything else and they got upset with us that they didn't know about the sash. I tried to tell the seamstress the first time but she wouldn't listen. Well they needed to bustle it. Thankfully they didn't charge us for it other wise I would have gotten really mad. Overall the experience today was pretty good and I have my dress.

WOW i totally agree with you!! i just went there this weekend and the were completely rude and impersonal. The other dress i found is twice the price-but sometimes I guess paying more is just worth it-i'mjust glad you have your drss! how exciting Smiley smile

I am soo sorry to hear about your bad experience with your gown. I was warned in advance by many people who have had problems so I chose to go to a local boutique and got an amazing price just like I would have gotten at DB! Hope it all works out for you

Staci21-be careful with bridal boutiques as well. My BM went to get fitted in March for their dresses and they returned at different times in Aug. My GM went in May to get fitted for tuxes and put a small deposit down. The end of July, I called to get an ETA on my dresses, and the owner told me she was closing 8/31! No one called me to tell me anything. I had to find a new place for my GM to get tuxes (we have Calvin Klein Brown tuxes), and that was a hassle. And when my BM dresses came back the 3rd week in August, 3 of the gowns were the wrong color! Fortunately my BM were able to get the right color gown, but ended up being a different style then we picked. Fortunately, I found my gown-a Demetrios dress on the sale rack (60%off) so I didn't have to order one. I used my own seamstress. I know of another boutique that went out of business and didn't tell their brides. They were on the news crying their eyes out cuz their weddings were close and couldn't get their gowns. So be careful!

Can I just say that just when I thought I was having a nice experience with DB, they totally jacked up my wedding dress and continue to tell me there's nothing they can do! So when pressing the dress, they put these tiny little puncture holes in random places on the dress (you can't really see them unless you know they're there), they said they don't have this dress in my size and can order it from another store, but it won't arrive before my wedding day. They say they will offer me a discount on another dress, but who the hell wants (and can) afford to pay more money on a new one, especially when all my jewelry, shoes, hair, etc go with THIS ONE??! I'm super pissed, but looks like the pin hole dress will have to do (not my choice). They won't even give me some of my money back!!! This what the stupid bi**h said "oh sorry, looks like you're stuck"....WTF???!

OMG Kari. I am sooo sorry to hear of your horrible experience. I know this is going to sound stupid and slightly redundant but did you happen to talk to the store manager. The alterations manager doesn't know and can't do diddly sqwuat. I would also report them to the better business bureau. I can't imagine getting a dress back with pin holes all over it and their response being, "oh well!"

I spoke with the alterations manager who read me their company policy. They said with the short timeline that there's no way to get the dress in from another store and they did offer a discount on a new dress, but I dont' want a new one. So that's why she said they're just stuck then. I thought that the least they could do would be to give me some of the money back I spent on the un-damaged dress, but they dont do that. I'm so afraid to even tell my fiance what happened 'cause I just know he'll FREAK. My older sister looked at it and said it wasn't noticeable.... They offered to try and fix it, but I honestly dont see how they could do so and I don't want it any worse!

I think a discount on another dress is a very poor resolve. I can understand not being able to get a new dress in, but come on. Do you already have all of your accessories? If not I would try and get your accessories for free!!

I think they need to try to resolve that problem a lot better. Obviously you picked out that dress because that's the dress you want. Not flawed, and not a different one. THAT dress. So they better effing fix it and do it for free, then take some off the top.

I know!! And I seriously bought everything from that store already- the shoes, the jewelry, the bridesmaids dresses, my dress... I'm not getting any help from them at all. When I refused the new dress, they're like "well that's all we can do unfortunately".

I would talk to the store manager. When I had my issue the store manager was able to help us. The alterations manager just kept telling us to be patient and we would get it when she got to it.

If I, personally, was wone of those brides that got f*d over on ANYTHING from them I would write up a letter, WITH NAMES and EXACT store location and send on to EVERY DB store and the head corporate office along with every bridal review site and magazine I could think of (well, I'd email them..lol) Sounds time consuming, but hey, People have a right to know whats going on, esp. if it's their COMPANY!

Yeah, I'll try that. I just feel like I've talked myself in circles that I'm almost like "forget it, I'll just deal" but I shouldn't have to do that since it was their fault. My sister told me that she was surprised they even showed me the holes, 'cause I could've signed off on it without even noticing them.

Well I'm glad you got your dress vegasbride..and I'm really sorry for what happend to you kari95630... I learned my lesson with DB during my friends wedding..She took her dress along with all of us the BM's to get our dresses altered when we got them back one of the dresses had the entire inside lining ripped when we pointed it out b4 leaving the store they told us that they did not do that n that it was our problem..The manager even threaten to call 911...we told her to go ahead n we would call the press so that it would be on the evening news....to say the least she did not call the cops but we sure did call the press. when the press arrived they claimed it was all a huge misunderstanding. They got us a new dress and altered it for free by the next morning....Even after all that I got my dress there at a very huge discount

I just had my mom scan the dress to see if she noticed the holes and she says she must be blind 'cause she can't see them and told me not to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Even if they are small, what girl pays full price for a dress that isn't perfect?!

I bought a BM dress from DB & had to have it altered. When I went to went to try it on again, I noticed the little zipper-pulley-thingie (sorry, I dunno what it's called) was missing. The sales associate said that if I hung around the store for a few min, they could fix the zipper. So I did. I waited for an hour (they said they were short-handed). When I got the dress back, I saw they had replaced the WHOLE zipper (I thought they were just going to replace the puller-thingy). And where they re-sewed it, the fabric was all bunched up & wrinkled. I pointed this out to the sales associate & she said that they would iron it, but since they were short on staff, it wouldn't be ready till Monday (it was Sat and they closed on Sun). I reluctantly agreed to come back. Just my luck they LOST the dress! Then they said I couldnt get a refund cuz the dress was discontinued & they could only give me store credit! This was 2 weeks prior to the wedding & I was soangry! I even took it up with exec offi
