Just Said Yes July 2021

i need serious help!

My wedding is suppose to take place on July 18,2020. Unfortunately this covid thing has messed everything up. We booked our ceremony at a resort which is called the Bahia resort & we choose a diff location for our reception which is a hall. Our ceremony site was willing to help us out and postponed until next year July 18 and has been very lenient and helpful but as for our venue site they have been a nightmare! They don’t want to allow us to postponed. & we payed since the start almost 5g more to have it on a Saturday. The owner is now saying he has no Saturday avalible for 2021 at ALL. & he isn’t allowing us to postpone until July. The only option he is giving us is on January & on a Sunday. He will not allow us to have a summer wedding next year on a sat even though we had payed 5g more. As of right now we are just waiting like dummies & without an answer if we are still having the wedding on July. Things in San Diego are getting better but they aren’t allowing weddings yet. We are 1 month away & supper stressed out not knowing what to do. I just don’t find it fair how the owner of the venue is treating us. & when everything can get worse our officant will not answer us at ALL. Sorry I typed this fast. HELP!

When I read “Bahia” I figured you were in San Diego too. Sorry to hear about all of the trouble. We live in SD but are getting married in Vegas (postponed from October 2020 to October 2021). I can only imagine how hard it must be to book 2021 weddings here now, with all of the postponements. Everyone loves San Diego! Where is your reception? So are you saying that there are only Sundays available in June 2021, but they won’t let you book one? Are you completely against January? That’s a tough situation. Although it sucks, maybe it’s less of a headache to find a whole new reception location for July 2021 (if available).

I'm so sorry Leeza - that sounds really stressful! What is your venue's cancellation policy? Would you lose everything, or just a smaller deposit?

Also have you asked about Friday or Sunday dates for summer 2021? Is it only the Saturdays that are all booked up, or is the only option on the table the Sunday in January?
