I need a funny, clean recessional song

Ashley, on March 24, 2010 at 8:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

I'm planning on having my bridesmaids/groomsmen walk down to the traditional wedding march then play the record scratch sound and switch over to something funny for my fiance and I to exit to. I love country music and oldies...I just want something to surprise everybody and make them laugh. It's a pretty conservative crowd though.

P.S. They're going to blow bubbles at us while we leave, in case that helps. Smiley smile

I've seen a social working marry a doctor and play "gold digger" for their entrance! -- could work here.... but maybe not with the conservative crowd!

Grow Old With you...the Adam sandler song from the Wedding Singer... not old or country, but would be cute and it is clean.

If you like country, you could do "Cowboy Take Me Away" and he could give you a piggy back ride! So cute...or another one that's kinda funny is "Another One Bites the Dust". I just did a wedding where they danced out and it was super fun!

I love Cowboy Take Me Away!!! Going on my reception list! I'm kinda looking for something funny though. After listening to that song, maybe I should stick with romantic though. Smiley smile

I think I'll do the Old People one at the reception too. My nickname for my fiance is "old man."

Have you looked at christian music. All the songs are clean and can be very funny. I love Geoff Moore and the Distance. I am thinking of using his song Homerun for our recessional.

I had considered Christian songs. I thought about Lemonade by Chris Rice.

I want something funny though, because it just fits.

How about the 'Muppet show Theme Song'? We were asked to play that as a recessional last year. We have also played 'In the Mood' - which would still work in a conservative crowd because it is more of a nostalgic selection.

I went to a friend's wedding where they exited to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and they were a *very* conservative couple. I'm thinking about using that for our recessional song, but I think my mom would kill me. Hahaha

Smiley smile Yeah. I've heard a lot of people talking about that song. It's great. I love it because my mom doesn't care!

    I have thought about "I'm a Believer" but I kinda feel like it's over-used.

I heard "I'm a Believer" by the Monkees (or Smash Mouth) on the way into work today and thought that might be a cute and sorta funny song for you to use.

I think "im a believer" is very cute, but yes, overplayed when it comes to weddings.... how about "all you need is love?" its not really funny, but its kinda corny so that makes it silly. lol. im trying to hard to make my fh love that song so we can use it!!!!!

Brad Paisley has a lot of semi-funny songs. Check into him and see what you can come up with.

We are doing Walk the Line by Johnny Cash. Not terribly funny, but the movie was our first date and we are both fans.
