Check on Etsy, or also check with a local seamstress in your area! As always, check reviews before booking anyone, and also ask to see photos of dresses that they've recently made. It also helps to give them photos of similar styles of what you're looking for them to make.

Have you looked into the custom shops on Etsy? Just make sure you do your research and gather every review you can find, and leave plenty of time for any delays.

I had both of mine made by a (semi-) local seamstress who owns a bridal boutique. I went to her shop looking for a dress and couldn't find what I was envisioning, and she told me she could custom make me what I wanted! Maybe try calling around to bridal boutiques in your area to see if any of them do custom work, or if they can refer you to someone that does.

There's also always the option of finding someone on etsy, but having someone you can physically go to and have measurements taken and actual fittings throughout the process makes a big difference! I was able to see the dress coming together and was able to make little changes.

I have to agree with CeCe. Try to find someone local. I do wedding dresses and alterations, AND I have done them remotely as well, but it is SO much easier to see what I am creating on the bride rather than on my dress form. The other problem is most people just don't know how to correctly measure themselves, or worse, "fudge" the numbers because they look too high. Definitely don't do anything until you have totally researched the exact style you are going for AND TRY IT ON! So many gals think "Oh, I HAVE to have a mermaid" .... .then when they try one on it's like "Oh, ewww, it looks awful on me".
