I just received a gift from our registry from someone we didn't invite to the wedding- what do I do?!

We love this person so much but I don't know if she thinks that her and her husband are coming to the wedding- if we have more people decline maybe they can..... do people just buy gifts for engaged couples even though they aren't going to the wedding?

I've had two friends from high school buy me gifts off the registry. Neither one of them are invited. I don't think either one of them think they're invited. They just wanted to get a little something to congratulate us.

Yup my FH's SIL's grandparents were the first to send us a wedding gift, off our registry. We've met them a few times but definitely not close enough to get an invite. Send them a thank you card and don't worry about it.

We sent a gift to a wedding we couldn't attend, but that is a little different.

If someone I work with was getting married I would probably get them a gift. We always pitch in when people retire, have a milestone birthday, or lose a loved one, etc...

Yes, that definitely happens. Just send a thank you card, no need to worry about an invite

Yes, it's normal, just send a thank you immediately. Definitely do not B-list them, that would be rude.

It's not uncommon to get gifts from those not invited, let alone those who can't come. Just send a thank you. I've done it for people I haven't been invited to.

Totally normal. I remember our next door neighbors sent a gift to my sister for her wedding. People just like to show their joy in your marriage. Don't stress about it.
