i just need to rant

Jazmin, on April 17, 2020 at 3:04 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Hello everyone,

First off I want to say I hope everyone is doing well & staying safe. What i want to rant out is how i was supposed to get married in August 15 2020 but rescheduling it till October of next year. Due to the covid-19 me & my fiance got laid off from work so we can't pay off things for the wedding we also had our honey moon booked to cancelled it but luckily we can get the money back i also have my dress already. We were also about to close on a condo but since we arent working we couldnt close on the condo. I've been so depressed about every thing going on how we have to wait another year. It just been really hard. I could imagine what other couples are going through.

Me wedding is taking place this saturday. Is the wedding we wanted, nope. Is it the wedding we got, yes lol. I did cry when this happens. When i had to call and make sure people were still going to do my wedding. Believe me, im still a little stressed wondering if its even going to happen, Just know your feelings are valid. Don't think there aren't. A wedding is so stressful to plan and a virus comes and takes everything you planned. But my fh and I are not letting this virus win. We are still getting married. We are so blessed to have our venders still work with us somehow. The boutique was able to get his tux somehow. It was just crazy. In the end, just remember what's important is you are marrying your best friend. That you cannot take away. But give yourself a few days to be mad, its reasonable. But after that, get up and think of the positive and beauty of your marriage, not wedding, marriage. A wedding is one day, marriage is a lifetime. Hope this helps.

So sorry to hear about your plans!! I am glad you were able to at least get your honeymoon money back. Seems like some people are having issues with losing out on stuff they have already paid for and vendors not willing to refund. All of this is so unfair and you have the right to be upset and sad. I really hope you and your fiance get back on your feet and can start planning more for your wedding again! Just try to remember it is about you and your man!! As long as you have each other, that is what matters!

Oh I'm so sorry. We are supposed to get married May 30th but have yet to make a decision about what we will do, largely because we are worried about our jobs. If one (or both of us) end up furloughed or laid off, we would dip into the funds saved for our wedding to pay our bills and would likely need to marry right away for health insurance. We feel like if we wait longer to decide, there may be regulations in place that put us in a better position to get a refund instead of just rescheduling, and then we wouldn't lose ALL of our deposits if we lose our jobs. This situation just sucks.
