I hate wedding invites. Why did I choose to DIY again?

AlexisM082, on May 17, 2015 at 2:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 40

FH and I have been going back and forth about wedding invitations. I found ones on Wedding Paper Divas that I LOOOOOVE, but FH doesn't like them. At all. Plus they're $250 and he already knows I have one I made (with the help of the internet) on my laptop. SO after much debating and many many MANY edits..... I think we have a final invite. I'm glad we're starting this early because I'm lazy and this sucks. Anyway, here they are. I might make the RSVP cards a bit smaller and I was thinking about using the same corner punch as the invites, but wasn't sure. I attached a picture of the corner punch options so feel free to give your input. We will wrap the 2 together with a little twine and maybe a bit of blush ribbon. I'm also going to print A I (our initials) on little 2" burlap or kraft paper hearts and tie those in with the twine and ribbon.

I really like your invites, you did a great job. I agree with you i think the rsvp's should have the same hole punch. I like the rounded edge .

I saw that template on pinterest! It looks awesome. Only thing i would change is maybe formatting his first name to the left to match the alignment of his last name and your first and last name.

Ended up changing out my last name to my maiden name so the length would match FH's last name. Plus everyone knows me by my maiden name. I never really pushed about using my first husbands last name. I only use it because I legally have to lol. FH also said that he wants me to round off the corners of the kraft paper. Ugh. @Jackie don't do it if you don't have to! I'm lucky enough to have found the template for free, but the corner punching, glueing in the center tieing crap around them, heart shaped pieces of paper.... I'd rather pay someone else to do it for me lol. FH isn't much help and my MOH just got engaged herself, so I don't be asking her for help. My other BM'S live in other states. If you have help then bring them all on!!!!

No problem! I was posting this from mobile at 3 am last night but I agree with Imtheone about the hole punching too.

I like them! But I definitely agree about the hole punch, they should be the same. And also, I don't know your guest list but only having a website to rsvp could be bad. My sister did that and a lot of the older guests invited didn't rsvp because they don't have a pc or didn't know how to use it, you may want to add another way for them to rsvp to avoid not receiving some.

I love them! My only comments are that I think the corner punches should be the same to tie it together and also maybe have a phone RSVP option as well? We did online and phone, and had a few older guests use the phone. We created a google voice number and made a voicemail message.

I like the hole punch that is on the invitations. And, agree that they should be the same for both(all). Other than that you did a great job. I love looking at DIYs. I'm not creative at all and love to see the creativity of everyone else.

I was going to do the same invites, I found mine here http://ahandcraftedwedding.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/DIY-mint-invitation-template-2-per-page-ahandcraftedwedding.png . I still haven't decided on invitations yet, and it's 150 something days until our wedding.

Super cute! I also made all of our invites as well. FH designed all the text and typed it up/formatted it, then I designed the overall look and put them together! The hardest part was cutting out all the hearts from a burlap coffee sack. (We are doing a coffee-theme, so it was totally fitting!) Here are mine:

I really like your invites. My FH is being difficult with ours as well. I ended up making our as well because we couldn't agree and I couldn't fathom spending that much money on invites. What glue did you use to stick the two pieces together?
