i got my dress today... and my mom hates it.

My mom despises my dress so much, she didn't even want me to sign for it and take it home.

She says it's too "boobie" and is way too low cut, too tight, and overall "unflattering and way, way too revealing for a wedding." She saw a picture of the dress before I ordered it, and I don't understand where the outrage is coming from.

I am 100% IN LOVE with this dress, but now I don't even want to look at it. I drove home in tears. The top part of the dress (bodysuit) has been discontinued, so I cannot order lace to add to it (which I didn't really want to do anyways). If I alter it, the lace will look different.

I need honest opinions please. Too revealing? Or is it okay as is?

I LOVE THIS DRESS!! You look stunning in it. I don’t think it’s too much boob. They’re not hanging out or anything. If you love it, go with it!! It’s not her wedding.

It’s ultimately your choice. I think it’s amazing! She’s not the one who has to wear it. And if you are comfortable in it then who cares. It’s not her wedding dress it’s yours.

My opinion is that your dress is AMAZING!!! 😻😻😻
You rock that low cut for yourself and your mom!!!
Im a fellow bride with a deep v cut whose mom told me to "cover up" and I said "la la la la la la im not listeniiiiiing!" 😂
She loves my dress now!

Beautiful! That dress is perfect for your body shape. Compared to a lot of dresses I’ve seen, that one is actually modest. I would keep it the way it is and hopefully your mom will come around.

I think it's lovely. Yes, it has a deep neckline, but it's not as if your boobs are popping out. Is your mom really conservative when it comes to dressing?

Beautiful and not at all what I was expecting after reading your post. Don't engage in any more convos about the dress change the subject or remove yourself from the situation. The dress shouldn't be up for discussion, you love it, you look great, that's that!

I think it's gorgeous and not too revealing at all! My mom made similar comments about my dress being too form fitting and too low cut (she literally said to me in a snotty voice "well, maybe it'll look better when it fits you" the dress was clipped and 3 sizes too big!). I just had to love it and accept that she'd only be happy with me in a parka.

Shut up this dress is AMAZING! The top, the skirt the lace. It all comes together perfectly. If I had your figure I’d rock this dress! It’s not revealing at all. You’re not pouring out if it and honestly because it has sleeves I think that the lower neckline is necessary orherwise it would be matronly...and it’s your wedding day so you want to feel beautiful. I would ignore anyone that says anything negative and trust your gut. If you feel that it’s your dress and you’re comfortable that’s all that matters! Enjoy your wedding!

That dress is stunning and fits you PERFECTLY. I’m sorry your mom put negative thoughts about it in your head, but she’s completely wrong on all counts.
Focus on how happy you feel in it and how much you love it - that’s all that matters!!

It’s beautiful!! The lace isn’t even see-through. Yes, it’s a deep “v” but that’s the modern style & you don’t even have that much cleavage showing. The lace is sweet & vintage looking. I wouldn’t call this a sexy dress, it’s simply beautiful. The bodice fits you beautifully, it is in no way too tight. I love it!!

Give your mom mom a few days to chill. But please pick up your dress with love. It’s beautiful.
