So the attached picture is me dropping my dress off at alterations 2 weeks ago. I have lost about 20lbs, and MANY inches all over my body. After I left, went home and cried for 3 hours about my belly bulge even after all my hard work,..... I then had to compose myself. Since then, I have been on a VERY strict diet. No Carbs No added sugars No bread NO NOTHING. Still working out 3-4 days a week, 5 if my schedule allows. My fear is, I am not going to loose this pooch. BTW that's me with spanx on. SO, I am going to ask a border line desperate and embarrassing question.... has anyone Duct Taped their stomach on their wedding day? I did some googling and found you can really pull in this little fat back duct taping your entire stomach. I am curious A. has anyone done this and B. how was it after you have been sweating and dancing all night and C. did you die in pain taking it off that night LOL I currently have a corset on the way to me, but with the lace it is difficult to wear them as corsets are so thick.

Any help is needed, as the past 8 or 9 months I have worked my butt off to loose as much as I could, and for it to still not be enough is devastating.

You look great. Please do NOT use duct tape. You will be so uncomfortable the entire time.

I am at my goal weight yet I still have a stomach. It’s totally normal. Your dress is so gorgeous and based on your profile pic you are so beautiful and will be a stunning bride. Your fiancé loves you and he’s going to drop when he sees you in that dress. FYI I’ve been doing the fit girls guide 28 day jumpstart on instagram and it has helped me a lot. My body looks totally different just after 2 weeks and they encourage healthy eating without starving yourself. Their book has recipes, grocery lists, and the fitness challenge steps. I know I sound like an ad but it’s really helped me.

I duct taped my bra on for prom once.

I'll never duct tape anything on my body again so there's also that. SO MUCH SKIN LOSS. 😂 My MOH and I still talk about her ripping it off.

Oh I may check that out also. I have pretty much cut everything from my diet. No Candy, cookies or anything like that, no bread, no pasta, no dairy. Just Chicken, Seafood and LOTS of Veggies and fruits for snacks. Apples and peanut butter. And the Premier Protein Chocolate Shakes have helped me on the weekends.

But it is enough. It's near impossible to completely get ride of that part of your body. The only reason models and people in photos look like they do is because of photography angles and photoshop. You are suppose to have a slight bulge there, its normal and healthy. Do not worry about it, you have lost a lot of weight already and look great. It is completely normal to have a slight bulge there.

First and foremost you look gorgeous in your dress! And congrats on the progress you've made with hard work and determination! I found myself in a similar belly booch situation several months ago and had to make some changes before I assaulted the next person to ask me when I was due. (It was BAD!) One of my co-workers (who happens to be a personal trainer/nutritionist) suggested the Keto diet (don't cringe... It's actually super easy). The only major difference from what you're doing now is that you replace all those carbs you've cut out with proteins and healthy fats. I only lost about 15lbs but I didn't have much weight to spare anyway and I've plateaued at about 130 give or take a pound. The big thing is I lost inches and lost the belly booch! My fiance has been on a modified Keto diet (he gives himself 60 carbs instead of the 20 that's "required") and has lost about 30lbs and almost 5 inches since July. What the Keto diet does is switches your body from burning glucose for fuel to burning fat for fuel.... And it eats up all those pesky pockets of fat storage that we have so much trouble trying to shed on our own. If you want to go that route, I strongly encourage you to download the lifesum app and invest in a year subscription (the app is free but only gives you classic dieting...you have to pay for one of the subscriptions to get more plans) so that you can select a Keto diet plan (there's 3 options). It will be your best friend starting out because it helps you avoid all the "but it's a vegetable!" carbs that I personally didn't realize were killing my carb count for the day. Whether or not you decide to give Keto a try, I would think duct tape would be a horrible idea... Are you supposed to just stick it right to your skin? I don't see how that would help anything. Maybe you're supposed to put a shirt or something on before you wrap yourself up? At least then you wouldn't have to worry about ripping off your skin... Duct tape isn't stretchy though so I still don't see how it's supposed to work better than a good pair of Spanx... The most important thing is that you are comfortable... And I don't think a duct tape girdle will be very comfy.

Honestly having a little pooch as a woman is normal and healthy. I would NOT recommend doing anything that squeezes you too much. My sister wedding went to a wedding where the bride tied her corset so tight to fit in her dress that she threw up as soon as she tried to eat or drink anything. That is not what you want on such a special day.

The issue is in your head, not in your stomach. One day you will look back on this and wonder why your you spent so much negative energy on your body rather than all the positive and wonderful things happening. I’ve lived a long time on this earth so I from what I speak.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong withing wanting to look your very best but when I see posts that you are considering fasting, wearing a corset, cutting out major food groups you need to be healthy, it saddens me for you. You ARE enough.

So I have never been a "dieter" but one of my gfs swears by it and had me join a local Keto Facebook support group, so I joined and follow them. I guess this weekend I may go on there and got some receipts from the girls there and see if I can incorporate that into my diet now.

Yeah I agree and totally see where you are coming from. It is hard. Because we as brides want to look our very best on this day.... and go through such extremes, I know mentally and emotionally its not healthy... and not even just brides, some girls struggle with this everyday! All I know is, when I go pick up my dress Oct 12, I will just have to be happy with where I am and the progress I made. And hope that I can loose a few more inches. If not, then I cant let it ruin my entire day.

I had people come in to the emergency room ( nurse) a couple years ago when that duct tape "tip" was in some tv show. The adhesive in duct or duck tape is not intended for going up against skin. Both got terrible cases of hives, blistering under the tape, and hives on chest, arms, legs, face. Not people usually allergic to things. And once blistered hives form, getting the tape off is a misery, a chemical to slowly peel back tape and semi dissolve the adhesive. Want this on your wedding day? These women were just out in slinky summer dresses, thought they would try it. Do not tape yourself, even over a layer of snap crotch nylon panties, as one did. You have an attractive body. You are not a manikin, to be shaped to order. So in addition to worrying about crushing belly, think, toxic chemicals on skin. Why? Just look your beautiful self.

I honestly don't see a big pouch. You look really great in that dress!

I definitely wouldn't duct tape your stomach. That is going to be super uncomfortable and very unnecessary not to mention borderline unhealthy putting that glue/chemicals on your body.

Be proud of your progress and own your body! You look so good in that dress so please don't let your insecurities cloud what you see in the mirror because we see a beautiful woman!

I think you're an absolute knock out in that dress! I have no advice on the duct tape question, but I am gonna recommend against it. Duct tape is a very strong adhesive and if left on your skin for hours you can have some bad reactions. Not to mention it will hurt like heck to take off. If you stand tall, with your shoulders back, chin level to the ground and a "proud chest" it will naturally force you to hold your tummy in and make it less poochy. I wish you luck girl. Please know that you are beautiful exactly as you are.

Don't duct tape! You look amazing, but if you don't feel amazing look at shapeware, there are some shorter ones and some higher ones, and lots that will work with the style of your dress WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY A 10/10! Another thing to remember is most of your pictures are from the waist up (after portraits), so since your neckline is sooo gorgeous at least you will be able to eat at the reception, and maybe at some point if you feel uncomfortable take the shapewear off! You are beautiful! Good luck! I hope you find a solution that makes you feel confident!
