"I better be invited"

Ever since we got engaged, I can't believe the amount of people who have said to me "I better be invited!" Like even people that I never really talk to that would have no reason to be invited. I can't believe people don't realize how rude this is. Anyone else having this happen to them??? Lol

A mom of a girl I knew in middle school, who I haven't talked to in over a decade, messaged my mother to tell her she was eagerly waiting her invite and to be sure she wasn't forgotten. I honestly didn't even know who she was at first...

I have a huge family and not everyone is invited. My parents have made it clear who they want or don't want invited. I am respecting their wishes. I have a nosey cousin who keeps saying "uncle so and so didn't get an invite". "Cousin so and so didn't get an invite". I'm just ignoring her. When she gets married she can invite whoever she wants!

Tell them it's a cash bar, potluck wedding. Then proceed to assign them the ham, complete with recipe.

    Problem solved.

I had a cousin accuse me of eloping during our summer vacation. Then said well it's on my calendar so I better be invited.

Ugh... yes, we thought we'd escape this comments since we haven't even post we were engaged on social media (and I opted for FH to spend the e-ring money on more tours for our honeymoon so I'm only wearing a ring he gave me about 10 years ago and doesn't seem to have come from him... unless I told you)... the worst came from coworkers, one told my dad that her son could be our RB (we work on different areas of the same company and my dad works at a different area than both, also, I didn't even knew she had a son!), and the other was a different coworker while he was taking me to supervise one of our construction sites, he asked "hey... are you getting married?!" my answer?... "oh, yeah... someday... we still haven't decided if we're there yet" (completely untrue since we had the date 2 days after), and he goes: "well if you are, you better invite me, because I'm going anyway and I'll stay until the very end, I mean, they'll have to kick me out at the end"... (all I was thinking was "oh... don't worry, they'll kick you... but right when you arrive")

Yes!!! What annoys me more is when those that are "near and dear" plan a vacation AFTER they know your wedding date.

Yes!!! Ugh. I even had one person who I haven't seen in 7+ years message me on Instagram to see if she was invited, so she can plan accordingly and book her trip to CT. Dude, you don't even have my # to call or text, if you have to reach me through social media, you answered yourself!

Yes! And its always the ones not on my guest list. Lol FH took it upon himself to announce our wedding date to a group of friends, some of whom aren't on the guest list. Gah! Still love him dearly though, just needs a good lesson in wedding etiquette...

Ugh. Happens to me all the time. Beyond annoying. But just be honest and say you're limited to close friends and family.

I have a neighbor that asks me every time she sees me, how is the wedding planing coming? She just invited herself. Then after receiving regret RSVP's back I sent her an invitation for one...meaning she doesn't get a plus one. She then told me that her daughter didn't get her invitation. I just had to tell her that we are at 250 guest and can't accommodate anyone else.
