How to write a thank you for lingerie?!

I would refer to it as a "thoughtful gift" and then go on to talk about how great it was to see them. Friends, I could joke about it.

Hmm how about "Dear Grandma. I am so happy that you could come to my wedding shower. I had a wonderful time and hope you did also. Thank you so much for the gift. I can't wait to celebrate with you on my wedding day. Love, Jane Doe"

Remember, thank you cards don't need to be novels. A few sentences are all that is required. Try something like this:

Dear Whomever,

Thank you so much for adding to the joy and anticipation of our upcoming wedding. It feels great to know that my family is surrounding me with love and support during this most exciting time of my life. Your wedding shower gift was not only beautiful, but so appreciated. Every woman loves pretty lingerie, and I'm certainly no exception. Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the wedding, and I'm delighted you'll be able to share the day with us.

I think you already have great suggestions for what to say, so I'll leave that. But as for your question: yes, you are correct, I also think of showers as being when you get your house/kitchen things, and bachelorette when you get lingerie (if your friends are into that kind of thing).
