How to word wedding invites when THREE sets of parents are helping out/hosting

BloodhoundLover, on July 24, 2015 at 7:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

My mom and dad, my fiance's dad and step mom AND my fiance's mom are being generous financially with our wedding and have helped a lot. I want to include them on our wedding invitations. Something like this (I'm using fake names):

John and Joanna Smith

Andrew and Andrea Jackson

Janet Jackson

request the pleasure of your company

at the marriage of....

The issue I am having is my fiance's mom is not married right now BUT she has a live in boyfriend of around 6 months. Do I include him? Or just her name? Is that weird?

I want to use first and law names instead of Mr. and Mrs. because my fiance's mom still has her married name from when she was married to his dad. So I want to use first and last names and no mr/mrs/ms.

How should I do this?

    Together with our families....

Any other way is over-complicated and very wordy.

What Elizabeth said. Short and sweet. ETA: If naming everyone who helped out is important, make a wedding program. that way you can list or each set of parents in an expected place. doing it on the invitation would take up too much room.

My sister had 3 parents listed on their invites because a friend's parents took him in during school and basically raised him. He calls them Moms and Pops. So just have them list Mr. And Mrs Smith (paragraph) and (paragraph) Mr. And Mrs. Jones (paragraph) and (paragraph) Mr. And mrs. Adams

Together with their families is the winner! Esp. if you risk 'well their names got put before ours!' BS... it's just safer that way and then in your toast be sure to give recognition.

Together with their parents... also works, since they are all parents. List them all under 'special recognition' somewhere else on the program.

When you add all those names plus the name of you and your fiance, I think it will be confusing. I would leave off all names but you and your betrothed.

We're in the same situation. We just put together with our parents. It was way too cluttered naming everyone..and my FH didn't want his step dad mentioned (lots of tension between them).
