How to Word Unplugged Ceremony

Madison, on April 13, 2018 at 12:53 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 15

I am working on my wedding website now, so it will be ready when we send out STDs. What is the best way to word "unplugged ceremony" on the wedding website? How did you word in on yours? I want to make sure it's clear by "unplugged" I mean no cell phones, cameras, iPads out at all during the ceremony (I get flashbacks to the horrible pics I've seen every time I think about this lol) but i don't want to sound too rude...

Thanks in advance for the help!

Just have the officiant make an announcement at the start of the ceremony.

We are putting up a sign at the wedding and possibly having our officiant say something about it as well before the ceremony starts. We have a website too but I just feel like not everyone reads what we’ve put on there. I feel like a sign at the wedding might be more helpful at conveying that message. If you Google or Pinterest “unplugged signs” there’s a ton of different ways to word it. Hope this helps!

    This is mine:

"We're requesting an unplugged ceremony, so we ask that you please put your phones (and iPads/tablets/laptops and digital cameras) away during the ceremony.

We encourage photos of the reception and yourselves before and after the ceremony.
If you do post, please use #[ourhashtag] to tag your photos.

I love this! I'm thinking of adding on that if someone does not keep social media accounts we can arrange for prints to be available at their local Walgreens. I'm probably down to one relative who that would be useful to but she is also the one who, for more than 40 years, gets in the way of professional photographers to get her own pictures.

Our officiant will make an announcement before but I also added this to the FAQ section of our wedding website:
    Can we take pictures?
-We do kindly ask that you don’t take pictures during the ceremony as not to impede our professional photographer. But after the ceremony you can take as many pictures as you would like!

Thank you so much for this! I tweaked it a bit to make it my own, but this was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments! I am absolutely going to have my officiant announce it and I also intend on having a sign. I want "unplugged" to be driven into everyone's head the maximum amount of time, haha.

We plan to have a handmade sign as well as have our officiant read something. I found some cute ones online through a quick google search.
