How to say Thank you but no thank you

HavanaChic, on July 3, 2017 at 3:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I have an appointment with a potential photographer on Thursday (this week).

Problem is I met a photographer over the weekend and fell in love and decided to book it.

How do I go back to the one that Im suppose to meet ina couple of days and say thank you but no thank you in a good way??

I did the same thing. I emailed my photographer and used the compliment sandwich. I told her that I loved her work, but I have decided to go a different route and would not need her services and if I would refer her to my friends if they ever were in need of someone.

Just be honest. They are used to having competition. You can just say that after further thought you and your fiance have decided to go with another photographer but thank them for their time.

Call and cancel. This happens to all vendors all the time.

Just be polite and direct--and give as much notice as possible!

"Hey X, just writing to let you know that we are no longer in the market for a wedding photographer so we are going to have to cancel our upcoming meeting. We wound up booking a different vendor. Thanks for your time, and best of luck to you!"

Just let them know asap so they don't waste their appointment space. Thank you for your help and agreeing to meet with us. But we have decided to go with the photographer we've been speaking with. Thanks again!

Gets the job done and avoids further questions.

This helps me out a lot!! So glad i saw this thread.

I scheduled two hair & makeup trials.

If I like the first one, I'm going to cancel the second HMU trial, but I'd feel terrible doing that since they've all been so nice Smiley sad Don't want to spend money on all these trials though!

I agree. Call and cancel. The sooner, the better - so they're not turning away potential customers who want to meet the same day/time.

Just like that - call and say "Thank you for your time, but we decided to go with a different photographer."

Cancel the appointment and tell them you found someone. That's only fair so that they don't turn away business while trying to respect your date.

If they're a professional then they'll understand, just call and cancel with the truth.

Call and let them know asap! Tell them you had a meeting over the weekend and instantly clicked with them. They will totally understand! They aren't always booked once they have a meeting.
