How to include baby into wedding (more details inside)?

Elizabeth, on January 4, 2011 at 9:33 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

I am not sure how to include the baby in the wedding or if I should. The baby would be about 8 months old by April 2012. Any ideas or suggestions? (I don't know the sex of the baby yet).

I'm kind of in the same boat. My BM is expecting a little girl, and she will be about a year old on my wedding day. I'm hoping if she does bring her to the wedding, that the dad takes over the responsabilities, so that I can have a BM. Smiley smile

Maybe you have the baby brought down the isle in a wagon all decorated.

Unique: Love the ideas! FH would love if it is a boy. He claims there is more to do with a son then a daughter. If it's a girl (and she gets into barbies) I know I would have fun since there are tons of new barbie stuff that I didn't have when I was little.

Elizabeth, when I do the unity sand ceremony, I have the parents pour child's sand if the child is too young to do so. I mention the child by name and as being part of the family.

We had my older nephew/ringbearer pull my younger nephew/ringbearer down the aisle in a wagon.

Of course it would look good with a girl! She'd be all gussied up in her pretty girly dress and everything. FH gets mad at me because my mother and I like to doll up my FSD like the girl she is. We don't pressure her into wearing anything girly, she's only 2 so she doesn't care. He's afraid she'll turn out to be a priss. I'm like "I played with barbies and look at me, I don't even wear pink anymore!"

Sorry, got distracted! I love the wagon idea, that would be such a cute way not only to incorporate the baby into the ceremony, but to show him/her off a little! You know everyone would take a million photos of him/her and keep telling you all day how cute they were. And it's a great opportunity for your wedding photographer to get some good shots of your child as well. And you could treasure them for years to come. I do like the idea of the groom carrying the baby down the aisle with him though, symbolizing all of you as a family being together in this.

I am doing the wagon thing. FS's niece will be 2, and is the flower girl, but we are going to have her in a decorated wagon surrounded by flowers ( and some to throw if she wants) and pulled by my little brother, who will be 11 and a junior GM

Our son will be 9 months old. FH and I are only having one person each stand with us, so my younger brother (20 yrs old) will carry the baby down the aisle so that he (my brother) can still participate. We'll be calling baby the ring bearer, but probably won't give him anything other than a pillow (or Terrible Towel if FH had his way and we did a totally Steelers wedding Smiley smile ) to hold for safety reasons.

One of my friends had 2 very young girls, I'm guessing flower girls, and they were escorted down the aisle in a decorated wagon. It worked just fine.
