How to get wax out of vases after wedding

Sj, on June 15, 2019 at 1:33 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 11
For our wedding we had candles in glass jars. I want to sell the jars but I don’t know how to get the dried wax out. Any tips?

Yes place them in the freezer for about 20 min. They pop right out. If they don't take a butterknife and just go around the edges. It works great

Maybe try heating them up and then just wiping the wax out.

Do the freezer, heat could discolor or break the glass.

Try freezer first if it doesn't work use hot water. Don't do boiling and wait for the jars to return to room temperature before going from cold to hot or they'll shatter.

Heat a pot of water up, turn it off and place your room temperature jars in the pot. I did this for a DIY project a few years ago, worked great Smiley smile

If you put them in a boiling pot of water it will all come right out. I actually do this with old candles when i want to save the jars.

Pop them into the freezer for a bit. The wax should pop right out and wipe them with a clean dry towl. They should be good to go.

Do the freezer trick, not heat.

Pop them in the freezer and every bit of wax will come right out. It’s pretty amazing!
