How to break in wedding shoes??

Alisia, on April 20, 2017 at 2:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Just received my wedding shoes last weekend and when I first put them on they felt pretty comfortable. I didn't really walk in them a lot though. Then I took them to my first dress fitting and just standing in them for 30 min my feet killed. So I need to break them in but they are Christian Louboutin and I don't want to scratch the bottom. Should I just walk on carpet as much as possible?? Does anyone have any tips/tricks to not scratch the red? I know the red comes off pretty easily if you work on a hard surface and I want them to be perfect for the wedding day.

See pictures!

Did you buy these in the store or online? Are you sure they are the right size for your feet?

Maybe put some socks on and walk around in them for a bit.

I bought them from Neiman Marcus and yes, I am sure they are the right size. They aren't too tight or too loose, they just hurt on the ball of my foot.

Practice standing in them for periods of time first then start walking on carpet short distances and build up daily.

Walk around in socks on some carpet. Broke my shoes in walking around my living room while watching Netflix!

Get some dr scholls for high heals. They are great cushy pads for the front of your feet. Maybe put some painters tap on the bottom and walk around your house, vacuum etc. Stick the tape to your shirt or pants or something first, to make it no as sticky.

Get one of the gel insoles that are made for high heels and walk around on carpet...wearing socks and walking the them probably wont help if they are just hurting the balls of your feet...its all about the angle from the heel to the ball of your foot.

Christian Louboutins are not meant to be comfortable they are a fashion statement. That's what the designer said in a interview years ago. I can't find the article at the moment

You may want to consider getting the protective spray to coat the bottom of your shoes that will keep the bottoms nice and shiny

I know you don't want to scratch them up before the wedding but my advice is to SCRATCH THE F OUT OF THEM! I also wanted my heels to be perfect for pictures so I only walked on carpet to break them in and it was a big effing mistake! Before our rehearsal (1 hour before the ceremony), as soon as I stepped on the wooden floor aisle I fell right on my ass... in my dress... in front of everyone.....while holding my bouquet that was only slightly damaged thankfully. My bridal assistant quickly whisked me up and away to a paved area to scuff those bad boys before to did the rehearsal.
