Don't register for gifts (that usually is a big hint) and you can tell people if they ask you directly/word of mouth through family members

Apparently proper etiquette dictates that you don't say anything about how/where to get your gifts.. and your bridesmaids/mothers/fathers/etc should be telling everyone who aks where to look for your registry.

(I didn't know this until I started wedding planning, and personally I think it's silly! I don't think it's asking/demanding a gift because you gave your guests that information directly)

So, I don't think there is "proper etiquette" for a cash gift. I'd probably put the information on your wedding website, and spread it around via word of mouth to those who ask.

As I inlcuded the website links ,there are registry for honeymoon, house deposit, and almost anything else you can think of....it's a WISH LIST for the couple and a WISH LIST for guest WISHING to give!

Word of mouth is really the only polite thing here.

!. You have a small registry or none at all.

    2. When anyone asks about gifts, you say, "We really have the things we need for around the house. At this point, we're just saving for a honeymoon."

That way, people who are comfortable giving cash can do so, without the fees of a honeymoon registry.
