How Soon After Your Wedding Will You Be Leaving For Your Honeymoon?

When are you planning to take your honeymoon? Some people leave the night of the wedding, some leave the next day, others within a few weeks/months, or some prefer to wait until their first anniversary! How long after your wedding do you plan to leave for your honeymoon?

That sounds like a great plan, and a fun and unique honeymoon destination! I like the idea of delaying the trip by a few months to save up more for the honeymoon of your dreams.

Both of those sound like awesome honeymoon destinations!! I'm sure the cruise would have been fun, but Key West sounds amazing as well! Great idea to stay at the hotel that's connected to the airport - that way, you don't have to get up even earlier to travel to the airport.

Lol I totally understand - my fiance and I postponed from 2020 to 2022, and we decided that we're not postponing again, so 2022 is our definite wedding date. We'll work with whatever restrictions that we have to. Awesome that your wedding is definitely moving forward this year!!

A full week of not having to think sounds incredible!! You could always do the European honeymoon as an anniversary trip in the future!

That sounds like great advice! I love the idea of having a day or two in between the wedding and honeymoon to recover from the wedding week craziness and to get organized, and then take off for the trip!

Very cool! I agree that having a day or two in between the wedding and honeymoon seems to be a good way to recover from the wedding week.

We're still figuring out what we plan to do for our new date, but for our original date, our wedding was going to be on a Friday, and we were going to leave on that following Tuesday for our honeymoon. For our new date, we're not sure if we'll plan again to leave a few days after the wedding, or if it'll be a few months after. It depends on my fiance's work schedule. Hoping to figure all that out by fall/winter this year!

Thanks! That way Sunday we can rest a bit and get the kiddos settled up, return any rentals.

Definitely! Having a day or two in between the wedding and honeymoon is a great way to recover/regroup and get organized. I think my fiance and I will likely do something similar.

We are waiting a couple of weeks after our wedding to take our honeymoon. We have a child in school and have to wait until the end of the school year.

That totally makes sense! Are your bringing your child with you on your honeymoon as well?

That makes sense, it would have been a cute idea to bring her with on the honeymoon (kind of a family honeymoon), but probably a better idea to get someone to watch her instead.

We're planning to leave two days after the wedding. That will give us time to rest, say goodbye to our families, and open a few gifts.

I think that's a great plan! Just enough time to recover from the wedding week craziness and get organized, but soon enough to where the wedding excitement is still there.

Getting married on a Sunday evening and leaving Monday morning. Our wedding is 2 hours away from where we live so we'll be in a hotel close to the airport the night before and will enjoy an early newlywed breakfast before getting on our flight. We tried to book a day in-between but our cruise was only available for that day.

Awesome that you'll already be by the airport! Love the idea of doing a newlywed breakfast before flying out. A cruise is a fun idea for a honeymoon!
