When are you planning to take your honeymoon? Some people leave the night of the wedding, some leave the next day, others within a few weeks/months, or some prefer to wait until their first anniversary! How long after your wedding do you plan to leave for your honeymoon?

Thank You! Its both of our first time on a cruise so we thought why not go to one for the honeymoon? What ideas did you have for yours?

Definitely a good reason to try a cruise! For our original date, we were going to go to Hawaii, but since we postponed from 2020 to 2022, we're discussing whether or not we want to change things up or stick with Hawaii. We've still got a bit of time, so we'll make a decision later on this year.

We are leaving the next day. I want it to feel like a real honeymoon and to me that means leaving right after the wedding. My fiancé wanted to wait a bit, but we compromised by leaving the following evening.

I think that's a great compromise! Still close enough to the wedding to where all the wedding excitement is still there, but with just enough of a break to unwind from the craziness and get organized before leaving.

We are planning to leave the next day. Get married on Saturday, stay in a hotel close to the airport for that night, then catch a flight in the morning!

We got married in April on a Saturday and went on a mini-moon the Monday after for the week (we went to a local, drivable beach town to decompress!). But we're doing our "real" honeymoon in September!

Sounds like a good plan! Hopefully the flight isn't too early in the morning, that might be rough lol. But I love the idea of taking off for the honeymoon right away! Also smart to stay close to the airport to cut down on travel time.

The mini-moon idea is cute! Especially since it was nearby and not stressful to travel to. Very cool that you still have your honeymoon to look forward to! Where are you planning on traveling to?

We're going to Hawaii for 10 days! Neither of us has ever been and we're so excited to check it out and explore the island (we're staying on Oahu the whole time).

After our minimony we left 3 days later. After our big wedding this year we will be taking the day after the wedding off and leaving on Monday. We also invited our wedding party this time to make it a group trip, so far it'll be 6 of us going to Mexico so we are excited!!

Very cool! That sounds like a good amount of time to relax/recover from the wedding before the next big trip.

We're getting married on a Saturday and leaving on the following Monday. We wanted a day to rest in between.

That sounds like a good plan! Just enough time to recover from wedding week craziness and get organized, though close enough to the wedding to where you still have all the wedding excitement.

My fiancé and I are doing a two part honeymoon. The first part will be a beach trip that starts the day after the wedding and last for 3 days. The second one will be week long trip to Europe scheduled for Spring 2022.

Ooh, that sounds super fun!! I love that you'll get two trips to look forward to, with each one being totally different. A beach is a great place to unwind from the wedding week craziness too. Enjoy!!

We live far away from family, so we're leaving 2 weeks after the wedding to give us time to hang out with family and friends coming in from out of town.

    Hi there!

This is a great question! MY FH and I have debated this on and off for a while now. We are getting married on October 2, 2021. We are choosing to wait to go on our honeymoon until early next year (either January or February). Mainly, we want to see where our budget is after the wedding ( we can also save more for our honeymoon by waiting a few months), getting time off with both our jobs can get tricky also, the thought of leaving right after our wedding just sounds exhausting! I think it's perfectly fine to do it either way. I think it all depends on what situation best fits you and your FH.

    Goodluck! Smiley smile

    Sam
