How much did you tip your:

-Photographer

-DJ

-HMUA

-Venue Coordinator/DOC

-Photobooth attendant

-Officiant

-Florist

-Baker (Cake)

Did you do a set amount or a percentage of their fee? Are there some vendors you don't tip? I'm trying to figure out how much extra money to allot for tips so it doesn't catch me off guard later.

Don't forget servers and bartenders. Our venue also suggests the chef too

Following as well... We have an all inclusive venue which charged a gratuity... When I asked he said all that was needed was a hug and a handshake. However that wasn't really helpful.

Good point Heather! Fortunately we don't have to worry about that since the gratuity at our venue covers all of their tips.

    -Photographer/Videographer - team of 4, $100 each

-DJ - 12 piece band plus sound man - $100 each

-HMUA - $50 each. The main woman is a long-time friend who offered to do it in lieu of a gift (yes, licensed/board certified and insured)

-Venue Coordinator/DOC - venue coordinator (no DOC or planner) $400 for the main one who worked with us for months, $50 for each of her assistants

    -Photobooth attendant - $50 each

    -Officiant $50

-Florist $50 to each person in the set-up and clean up crew. $100 to the lead designer, who we met with twice.

-Baker (Cake) - included in package

Head chef and dining room captain got $100 each. All other serving and kitchens staff got $50 each. The bartenders only $20 each, since it's common in our social circle, for guests to tip $1 each drink.

Total gratuities close to $5,000. Hotel already charged a service charge. Our banquet manager said staff were thrilled they got tips; couples seldom are so generous. The service was phenomenal; i.e. in the dining room 2 servers were assigned to 2 tables. A guest just had to look up a staff member was at their side.

    Here is who I tipped:

    Photographers - $100 each (there were 2).

    Venue Coordinator - $150.

    Service Captain - $150.

Servers - $50 each in separate envelopes (there were 10 I think).

    Bartenders - $100 each (there were 2).

Musicians (string quartet) - $50 each (there were 4).

    Hair - 20% of fee.

    Makeup - 20% of fee.

That's all. I did not feel the need to tip anyone else. The other vendors were great but they were paid thousands of dollars for their work and as business owners, they set their own fees. I wrote them great reviews and sent thank you notes.

ETA - we did not have a photo booth.

$800 for the caterers and servers

We had 8 of our friends and bridal party that sang one song and we "tipped" them $50pp because they are all professional vocalists even though they were guests as well.

$50 for the dj, officient, doc and her assistant, hmua, and then for each of the photographers and videographers (4 total).

The bar tenders tip was included already as was the gratuity for the snocone stand. Smiley smile

I think that was it lol.

I have no idea for any of the others. But our photographer is giving us am amazing deal with great quality photos. She is charging $300, we are giving a total of $500, so $200 tip!
