If you're comfortable sharing, how much did you spend on your shoes for the big day? I found a pair that I am absolutely in love with, but they are way more expensive than I even considered spending on shoes. Do I splurge on the pair I love or compromise because they're just shows for just one day?...

I have my heart set on slate blue suede block heels for my wedding. I had ordered a pair from Lulu's and they were exactly what I wanted... but they were 4" heels and there was no way I would able to walk down the aisle in them. I had purchased them for $35. I found a pair from Vince Camuto that are also what I want, and only a 3 1/4" heel, but they're $100. I didn't want to spend that much, but I don't want to settle on shoes that I don't like or can't walk in. I have a floor lenght dress and although my shoes won't show that much, I will know what they look like and I want what I want. Maybe relook at your budget and see if there's a category you can rebudget so you can spend more money on the shoes.
I am planning on spending about $80 on mine

With my shoes, I bought a simple, yet classy pair of flats from Dillard's for about $75, which is normal for Dillard's. I hate heels because I'm already tall enough and heels hurt, so the flats are perfect for me and SUPER cheap than what normal wedding shoes would cost
I spent about $100 on some rose gold comfy wedge sandals. I didn’t intend to spend that much since my dress is floor length but I fell in love with them!
I spent around $250 on a new pair of boots for mine, which is pretty standard for a pair of cowboy boots. They are so beautiful and I will definitely wear them again!

I bought mine a few weeks ago at jimmy Choo and found a pair I loved that turned out to be 1/2 price. I think they were $350? They are the Romy 60 so a low heel. So soft and comfy!
I bought 2 pairs, 1 for the ceremony and first look and stuff, and a pair of flats for dancing later. My heels I got off Amazon for 30 bucks, and the flats were on sale at David's bridal and I had them dyed teal and those were 25 bucks. So grand total 55 dollars! I didnt want to spend a ton of money, especially on shoes I may not wear again, although I think I will definitely wear both pairs again!!
My personal opinion is get the shoes that you will be comfortable in. Nobody will see the shoes unless your dress is cut to show them. You will have to stand for hours and hours and possibly walk across strange terrain (think of heel diameter).
I am going with comfort for mine, they may not be as cute as the instagram worthy shoes, but I'll be able to have the best time because I can walk easily and not feel pain.
I spent $60 (on clearance from originally $180). My dress is floor length and my hubby to be is the same height as me so I just wanted to ensure I had a pair of flats that would be comfy (and bonus points can wear for other events)
I can't wear heels unfortunately, but if I could I probably would have splurged on a pretty pair of they were comfortable enough. But since I couldn't get my dream shoes and I knew they wouldn't be seen under my dress, I got these for $18 on Amazon.

$89 for the badgley mischka tangerine heels.
I'm doing Bobs/Toms. So approx $40-$60. I'm over my heel days. And I'm 5'8". So I don't even need them. And the sample dress was the perfect length while I was barefoot.
