How much did you spend on invites?

I'm trying to make the most of black friday and buy our invites. I'm debating about going with vistaprint for invites and spending $80 on invites that I'm meh about or going with basic invite and spending $200 on invites I really like.

I'm hoping seeing the amounts you all spent will snap me back to reality to go for the more economic route.

ETA From VP I would get 100 invites and 100 RSVP card

from basic invite 100 trifold invites with the last panel perforated and designed as an RSVP to be removed and sent back.

Also I found out I can't use my groupon in conjunction with the black friday deals for VP so I'll actually spend $130 vs $200 at basic invite.

$170. Including lined envelopes. I got them off weddingpaperdiva.com with their promo of %25 off for black Friday. If not it would've been around $250.

I think we spent about 275 for 75 invites? + response cards/envelopes, info cards... Oh and then like 50 dollars for stamps. Oops! Haha. They were so beautiful though.

Luckily my sister and brother in law do graphic design. So I'm literally just paying for the paper and ink and she's making them so I think with postage (which for us includes a lot of international postage) is about $100

I say settle for the VP ones and save yourself some money.

I know it's tempting to go with an invitation you may really love and while I agree that they help set the tone of the wedding, they ultimately get overlooked by guests when it comes to the design and then get thrown away.

We are spending less than $2.00 a piece on elaborate pocketfold invites however they will be DIY.

My sister is going to help design the invites. We're looking at spending around $50.

I posted a thread about DIY invites and someone (can't remember who but THANK YOU!!) posted this link to invites:

    http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Wedding-Invitations/Wedding-Invitation/Pocket/Love-Story-Wedding-Invitation

I haven't ordered them yet but these are the invites we decided on. They come as a complete package (you have to put them together yourself though) and they are def within our budget. Like another bride commented most of the times they end up in the trash so paying approx. $250 for 100 full invitation sets is a steal Smiley smile

I ordered Vistaprint and I LOVE that I did. I ordered on the 21st during their Pre Black Friday sale, which was the same pricing as it is now. We got 200 STD Magnets, 200 Invites, 200s RSVPs, 980 Address Labels and 250 Thank You cards (and plain white envelopes for them all). It was the slowest shipping and we received them on the 28th! We noticed that the color was off on half the invites and all of the RSVP cards. I emailed them on Saturday morning, not expecting a response until Monday because of the holiday. Their auto reply email said that they respond in less than 24 hours. I get an email mid-Sunday apologizing profusely for the mistake and saying they are sorry they took so long to respond (which is crazy. It was a weekend and they got back so fast!). They are rush shipping 100 Invites and 200 RSVPs and we will get them by or before this Wednesday. They also refunded us the $12.99 for the shipping we spent on the first order.

The magnets turned out great and the Thank You cards are heavier stock. We got the cheapest paper of all of them. We spent $327 after shipping (but as I said it was just refunded to us) and they have tremendous customer service. You don't need to spend a bunch of money on nice invites. They will just be tossed anyways so save that money elsewhere. I am so thrilled about using Vistaprint.

I wanted to spend $535 on 150 pocket fold invitations on the black friday/cyber monday sales my mother however freaked out, so now we are having a friend of the families make them for $250. I am a little nervous though because now I have no idea what they are going to look like, and I am terrified they are going to come out looking awful.

We just ordered all the paper materials from Paper Garden for under $200 (tri-fold pocket envelopes, background, invite, info insert), enough to make 225. We will print at Staples, and I'm going to design our wording with the help of a digital design friend, and then we'll have a wedding planning party to have a few girlfriends help assemble. So partially DIY, without a ton of hassle, just printing, a little bit of cutting, and assembling. For probably $300 or less all said and done.

Mine were around $560 and totally worth it. (for 75 invites, RSVP cards, accommodation cards and envelopes with addressing) I ordered well over 60 samples from every company that I could think of. In the end, it was worth it to spend the extra money on ones that we loved.

Ugh kill me now. Almost $800 we went with this local company because I have this thing with being able to see things in person before I order them. They charge for every little thing. But they are AMAZING!

I spent $460 to have a graphic designer do custom invitations for our destination wedding in Scotland. We got a run of 30 pocket invitations with RSVP cards, 100 thank-you cards, and 100 separate invitations to our reception that we'll be holding when we return to Canada after our wedding/honeymoon. Also the envelopes for the invitations are lined with Wally's family tartan. They are gorgeous! I was going to DIY my invites, but decided that I'm pretty bogged down with all the other details of putting this shindig together, so I called in a pro. I am SO glad I did!
