I'm trying to make the most of black friday and buy our invites. I'm debating about going with vistaprint for invites and spending $80 on invites that I'm meh about or going with basic invite and spending $200 on invites I really like.

I'm hoping seeing the amounts you all spent will snap me back to reality to go for the more economic route.

ETA From VP I would get 100 invites and 100 RSVP card

from basic invite 100 trifold invites with the last panel perforated and designed as an RSVP to be removed and sent back.

Also I found out I can't use my groupon in conjunction with the black friday deals for VP so I'll actually spend $130 vs $200 at basic invite.

I have some invitations, save the dates, and reply cards in my online cart right now. Total will be around $420 for me with a coupon I have. We are expecting 150-200 guests (I am ordering a few extra just in case).

I haven't purchased any but my goal is to spend no more then $3 per invite incl. rsvp cards. We will order approx. 80 invites, so looking to spend no more then $240-$250. I know I can get ones for around $1 per invite incl. rsvp cards but they just aren't what I want :p

I've seen some GORGEOUS ones between $5 and $7 per invite with rsvp card, but I can't bring myself to spend that much

I did vistaprint black friday. I ordered 150 invites, 50 save the date magnets (we are doing e invited and magnets for close family and friends), RSVP cards and seals for the envies and it was bout $135! I even upgraded the papers for our invites to make them look even better. I would say go with vista, upgrade the paper and save some extra money!

Paid $30 for 40 invites on vistaprint too! It was a bargain I couldn't pass up! Personally I throw out invites and only keep STD's, don't waste that much on these trust me!

Invites were one of my splurges. I had a hard time finding any I really liked. I ended up finding a site called paperelegance.com and they were cheaper than the Carlson craft ones I found anywhere else. We paid about $300 incl shipping when elsewhere it would have been $400 for just the 80 invitations. We ended up getting the invitation (velum with pearlized paper), splurged on lined inner envelopes, RSVP cards to match, the self stick outer envelopes, and having the return address preprinted on both the outer envelope and the address on the rsvp envelope.

    Edited for spelling

I am having a VERY a difficult time spending money on something that is going to be thrown away!

However, after a crap ton of searching, I found invites I love on Etsy for $3 each. Thank God!

I am a professional wedding goer, and have to say, our of all the invites I've ever received, my all time favorite ones were from vista print, and I never would have guessed in a hundred years that was where they were from!

Hi date twin. We went the diy route. Mainly because my little sister is a graphic designer. She brought over her fancy printer and my lovely, but smart nieces decided to surprise us and they printed them out. Printed the labels and added the stamps. Of course their were some alignment issues, my twin nieces are 8 and their sister is three, using a professional printer and software. Our total cost for diy invitations was around $50 not including postage. I'm not sure the actual time my sister spent working on them.

I'm paying $230 for 50 invites, envlopes, rsvp card and additional information card from Etsy.com (JulieHananDesign is the shop name). I'm getting a discount because I'm going to do some of the assembly myself. The thank you cards are going to be anywhere from $1.25-$2.50 each depending on what I go with.

They are a little more expensive then I wanted them to be but I ordered my STD from Visita and saved a little money there. I'm also DIYing a lot of other things for the wedding and am underbudget for those projects.

We got 100 seal and send invitations from annsbridalbargains.com for about $140. I thought that was a great price and since the RSVP card is a postcard we will save money there. We've budgeted about $100 for postage (both ways) and $13 for monogrammed seals. We used VP for info cards and that was around $20. I think we did pretty well.

This was not something we wanted to spend too much money on considering I'm 100% sure that the majority of them will end up in the garbage.

@Silan and others who make them yourselves...what computer programs do you use? Do you take a design to a Kinkos/Staples etc or just print them out at home?

Ours will be about $180 for the 75 invites, including the RSVP, RSVP envelope (with address), and outer envelope. I'm going to do clear labels so that was another $13 and then stamps. I could have made them and printed them myself, but I wanted an invite with "thermography" which is a little raised texture. We found a design we love at a great price that allows us to do this. I will be making and including little maps with the invites too.

I refuse to pay too much for paper products....I got 125 & 25 invites for about $100....I chose to allow my "tech savvy" guests to RSVP online...the paper RSVPS are for the older guests.
