How Much Did You Spend on Flowers?

I’ve gotten kind of crazy with them... we are getting married in a garden in a super nice hotel we got a crazy deal on... so I started making some. Spent $800 on them for the reception, then found a florist I LOVED, spent $800 on the bridal party and family, and then kept adding more from her... I’m at $3,800 now!!! Oh my God how did that happen?! I’m taking tons of photos and have a videographer, and we have disposable cameras at the wedding tables so I’m hoping I’ll remember them forever. I will have the fake ones to decorate my house with post, but my gosh!!! Did anyone else go crazy on this or just me?

Honestly we never set a specific budget but I made one that’s about 12,000 so not super low but our venue takes up half of that so the rest I have to be picky about

That makes sense!!! The venue has to work and if you have the right one the venue itself can be breathtaking and set the mood!!! Do they allow BYOB to save money there too (kegs and boxed wine)???

I have my moments. I also have my splurges (DJ, photo booth, photographer, a whole lot of chalkboard signs). Fortunately our venue is an all inclusive including centerpieces, cake, full open bar, food, linens, valet - so a lot of it is already handled.

No they do everything in house, but that includes linens and dishes and I can use their vases for centerpieces so that helps

I really don’t care about flowers. We are having a fall wedding, on a vineyard, in the mountains. So I am more focused on the scenery. Our florist bill is only around $1,000. Maybe a little less if I can find other things I want to cut back on. I couldn’t bring myself to spend a lot of money on something that will die in 3 days... while I’m away on a honeymoon.

Using the vases does help!!! When I had vases shipped at least one would break and the cheap ones look just that - so I extra love that they provide those for you at your venue

That makes sense! I’m actually drying some flowers and using salts to preserve others and plan on making this with them when we come back from our honeymoon. Only way I could justify the live flowers, but did a bunch fake too for the same thought process. We are also giving our two (2) 48-stemmed rose displays to our moms at the end of the wedding. Costco for $80

Thank you! We also are taking dance lessons have a choreographed first song & FH band (sans him) is playing our first song live (since we put so much money into the dance lessons we decided to ask the band if they would play the first song). So I’m taking any savings that I can get haha.
