How much are you paying for hair & makeup with travel fees?

If you have it in the budget it's your day, you do what makes your day stress free and beautiful! With that being said,I wouldn't pay that much it cost more for her to travel and get a hotel room on you then the actually hair and make it's self.

I think it's pretty reasonable considering the travel distance (assuming she is does really good work!!).

Good d a $330 travel fee?! my travel fee was $75, she said if she has to leave her salon, even if its 5 minutes away theres a fee. Mine was $250 with travel fee, hair and make up.

I'm paying $218 for hair and makeup and $0 for travel since it's within 20 miles of one of their locations. Their contract states (TRAVEL FEE: A flat rate travel fee of $99 per Artist will be applied to any event outside of a 20-mile radius of one of our Operating Hubs: Sacramento CA, South Lake Tahoe CA or Reno, NV). I think you may be best finding someone closer to the venue - $330 seems extreme!

Where is the wedding taking place? I'm from the Seattle area and may be able to offer some other places closer to the wedding.

I picked someone local to my wedding venue. I was quoted $200 per person for hair and make up, and that included a travel fee to get it done at the house.

The other MUA was $80 per person but mo travel fee for 5 or more people in the group.

Is there not someone local to the wedding who could do it?

Uh...yeah.. $330 seems insane and unless you're having her do your hair and makeup at night or requiring her to stay with you all day there is 0 reason for someone to have to get a hotel room for a 2.5hr drive...
If it were me I would think she just didn't want to do it and was pricing herself out.

My wedding is in Cle Elum. My HMUA just messaged me and said she will actually not need the hotel so it will be a $200 travel fee. I also forgot to mention she has an assistant coming with her for my bridesmaids.

Most HMUAs around me charge 55 cents a mile round trip outside of a 10 or 20 mile radius, some charge an extra fee if they have to travel more than 60 or 90 minutes

I would find someone that may be closer, but that's just me. If she is perfect and in the budget go for it!

My Airbrush was $125 and hair was $85. She had a $35 travel fee for over 30 miles (The hotel was literally 32.2 miles away, but whatevs) She was awesome though and specialized in airbrush.

Possibly try looking for HMUA in North Bend area and try to split the distance. The cost could be lower with it not being a Seattle HMUA because I would assume prices would be higher in Seattle as opposed to outside Seattle. Just an idea to look into.

I'm not trying to find someone else my wedding is next month, I just wanted to compare prices. Of course I looked at closer HMUA when I started my search didn't find any I like.

Our travel fee is $5 per mile. The same salon is doing hair and makeup (non-airbrush) for us and are sending a total of 5-6 people (including an assistant). I am paying $1300 (including taxes, travel fee and tip) for:

-Bride's hair/makeup with a trial

-3 Bridesmaids' hair/makeup

-2 Mothers' hair/makeup

-1 Flower girl hair (she's 5)

I'm paying $160 for both hair and makeup, $80 for the hair & makeup trial a month before the wedding, and an $80 travel fee.

The average price for places in my area is $65 hair, $90 makeup. No travel unless it's outside 25 miles and then it's $1.

Should add, $1 per mile.

$0 in travel fees since where I got ready was only 4 miles from the HMUA. Hair $55 (?) 😂Can't remember for sure since it was months ago. And makeup was $160 because I paid her to stay until the ceremony started for touch ups for me, my mom, MIL and whoever else wanted it.

With your update about not needing the room, and that it includes another MUA I think it's reasonable.

Mine is going to be $3,510 for myself and my bridesmaids so I think that sounds like a great deal!!
