How much alcohol will I need for 35 ppl?

Victoria, on February 21, 2013 at 11:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hi, guys.

My first post here. We are doing the all-inclusive venue. The only thing we provide ourselves is alcohol. We will be having a small wedding with 35 ppl total. So, I'm thinking shampaigne, beer and wine. (maybe 1 signature drink...not sure yet)

approximately I will probably need:

15 bottles of shampaigne

6 18packs of beer

30 bottles of wine.

Is that too much? too little? I estimate with about $20 per shampagne and wine and $16 per 18pack of beer . This will be like $1000.

Our vendor estimated 6 drinks per person at $6 a drink. We figured not everyone will drink that much and may drink more. I think 30 bottles of wine may be a lot for 35 ppl. There are roughly about 4 glasses of wine in a bottle. If everyone drink a bottle of wine, that's 35 bottles. Same thing with the bubbley. People probably won't have more than a glass of champagne so figure 4 glasses a bottle, that would only be about 9 bottles. It's better to have too much than too little, but you don't want to break the bank either.

When you have parties or see these people at the holidays, what do they drink?

Buy according to what they like to drink. No reason to have all those bottles of wine if no one ever drinks wine at your parties.

Or find a less expensive wine if you are on a tight budget.

    ~ welcome to WW ~

    congrats

We doing the bubbly just for the first toast. So, I guess I can go down to 10 bottles on those. See, we have russian/italian wedding, meaning everyone drinks. a lot!!! haha. italians love wine, and if I can easily drink a bottle myself, I'm sure some of them can drink even more...hmmm....I just hope it's enough. If I have any left over - the store takes unopened bottles back. I really didn't plan on spending more than a $1000 on alcohol though, but now I'm wondering if I should budget a little higher on alcohol...

Haha. the calculator said 120 bottles of beer and 24 bottles of wine, and considering we going to have more wine drinkers than beer drinkers, I'm very close in my estimation. Smiley smile

I think with so many vodkas out there you can do anything cheap with that. Like you could use any of the fruity vodka flavors like fruit loops or cherry or whatever and mix with sprite.
