Unfortunately increased, a lot..... and we are not rich!!

My main problem I think is that I never really anticipated the majority of family members and extended family that live very long distances actually being able to make it to the wedding ..... not only that but a lot of distant cousins practically RSVPed when they weren’t even technically invited but what can you do ?

On top of that my sister recently got married last year and my parents only spent about 10,000 on her wedding and so when it came to mind they wanted to be fair however not only are numbered guest hire for mine but also the cost of living for the location. on top of that my sister recently got married last year and my parents only spent about 10,000 on her wedding and so when it came to mind they wanted to be fair however not only are numbered guest hire for mine but also the cost-of-living for the location ... I thought perhaps getting married at the grooms residence other than sentimental value would also add some monetary gain! Considering we don’t have to pay for venue...
But I couldn’t be more wrong I finally realized I needed help and so I hired a partial wedding planner and event day coordinator and ironically she has saved me so much money as well as stress .....

She is amazing and her prices are completely fair in fact I don’t think she charges enough for all that she does so even though we have had to raise our budget...... and even though she had fees......she has saved me much money...

Before hiring her I had already had to increase my budget ... and honestly me hiring her did not increase that modified budget and she has save me a lot of money and also her networking and discounts she gets from vendors and previous staff really helps so if I could change anything I would’ve just bit the bullet and she would’ve been my first priority - cost wise !!!! Not all of them are like that .

But she is an amazing person and works so hard and has gone above and beyond even what our contract entailed ! She cuts out extra costs and actually negotiated with vendors I had already hired and prices I had already signed contracts for and have gotten some of those reduced not to mention vending needs I had left when I finally hired her she has found and secured them for me and they are so affordable nothing like who I was trying to contact before .... unfortunately even with the help of my parents and the grooms parents we still are having to dip and some of our savings which is not ideal but it’s almost like we feel like were in it too deep now...... When I really think about the money it’s kind of sickening because I never planned on spending money for a grand wedding but using that money towards something else and having a very small ceremony but it will be worth it to see friends and family I haven’t seen in a while as well as both sides of my family being able to get together and meet the grooms parents and his extended family and very close friends !

All in all all we have 100 guests and it’s already at about 40,000 which is “considered average” or on the up end of the national average if you google it...... when I had only planned on spending about 15 tops not because I’m completely clueless about how much things cost but I was kind of clueless about the area of where were getting married the amount of close friends and family that are traveling and willing to travel just to be there as well as the fact that if you are not familiar with vendors or have someone close to you that is, it’s very hard to find decent prices and availability ......

^^^* so sorry for all the typos in the repetition I’m having to use voice text on my phone at the moment ! I could not figure out how to delete it!
    It should have read :

“main problem I think is that I never really anticipated the majority of family members and extended family that live very long distances actually being able to make it to the wedding ..... not only that but a lot of distant cousins practically RSVPed when they weren’t even technically invited but what can you do ?

On top of that my sister recently got married last year and my parents only spent about $10,000 on her wedding — the grooms mother kind of took control and planned and paid for things...... without even consulting my sister at times....... and so when it came to mine they wanted to be fair, and knee I wasn’t wanting anything big.....

however not only Is my guest Count significantly higher..... but so is the cost of living for the location. I thought perhaps getting married at the grooms residence (other than adding some sentimental value would also add some monetary budget relief) Considering we don’t have to pay for venue...

We didn't really set a budget. We kinda just went with the flow without going overboard.

We never really had a set budget, we've just been paying as we have the money to do so and are trying to DIY as much as possible! I have a number I'd like to keep it under and I think we'll manage it when all is said and done. Yay!

We had a rough estimate budget then increased it once after we nailed down exactly what everything costs.

Three times: first was because we didn't have realistic expectations of the cost for what we wanted, the second was a raised budget based one us paying for the wedding in its entirety, the third factored in surprising help from parents Smiley smile
