How many people did you invite to your wedding? How many, of those invited people, RSVP’d and actually came?

Right now, I think our guest list is 80. I won’t be able to tell you how many came until June 🤷🏽‍♀️

From what I’ve heard, a rule of thumb is that 10% of your guests will decline.

But every situation is different! Sometimes only 50% come, sometimes everyone comes. It depends on your guests specifically, and also especially how many of your guests are local vs out of town. There’s not really a way to predict this in any specific case :/

We invited 85. We knew some would not come. We had 83 say yes, 77 showed up.

We invited 222 people, in 103 households. We had some people utilize our RSVP function online after our save the dates, and so far we have 50 people going (19 person bridal party, bride & groom, 6 parents) and other people who RSVPed or booked hotel rooms. We had 4 RSVP "no" but they were all children of a couple who is coming.

We invited 120, 72 RSVP'ed yes and 72 came. However, three weeks out we were at 75 and three backed out the couple weeks into the wedding. We also had a DW in another state, so were expecting a lower rate. Generally, you can expect 80% to show up out of the number you invite (this is an AVERAGE and does not represent everyone). BUT nobody gets 100% invite to attendance rate (as in 100% of the people that you invite then RSVP yes AND show-up at the wedding). Of these forums, the highest percentage I've seen is close to 95% invited to actually attended and no one at 100%.

Oh yeah. One couple was fine. The mom was dealing with cancer. Her health was more important.

A few others, we have no idea why they didn't show.

    We invited 91 people
    we had 67 rsvp yes
my uncle called today and said they actually won’t be able to make it. So we’re at 65.
Wedding is in 16 days. We’ll see if that many show up. I’m sad that it’s going to be so small, I was hoping for around 80. So many people declined that we weren’t expecting. All for valid reasons, but still 😔

I ended up with 185 guests attending out of 223 invited (83%). Of the 38 (17%) declines, about 1/3 of them were from people who actually attended but didn't bring their children or didn't bring a significant other and 2/3 were people with schedule or travel conflicts. We had just a few no shows (one couple in hospital with kidney stones and 2 cousins didn't bring their significant others at the last minute). I think your decline rate will depend on the percent of invitees that require travel to attend and the closeness of the people to you (majority of my declines were DH coworkers, MIL friends, those that needed to fly to attend). Good Luck!
