How many of you met online?

We didn't meet online, per say... we met via yik yak

ETA: I decided after reading some of the stories that I wanted to share ours.

I was bored working alone on a Saturday and posted on yik yak that I really just wanted to go home, curl up, and watch Netflix. He responded saying "I've got netflix and pizza when you get off" and I said "no thanks, I don't meet guys of yik yak... I've had some weird experiences" (the worst of which being the guy I met on tinder who took me on a date and didn't talk the entire time). He said he understood but the offer was still good, another commenter said "come on OP! Give him a chance!" So we exchanged kik info (not about to put my number out there!!) and talked a little. I agreed to go to coffee with him but then kept making stupid excuses to push it back later and later. Even if I liked him I expected it to just be a fling as I planned to move back to my college town in the fall. Eventually I had no more excuses and met him at the coffee shop.

We hit it off instantaneously. We talked for a couple hours over coffee before realizing it was dinner time, we then went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. After that we decided to go back to my house and watch a movie (I had a lot of roommates and he had none) ended up falling asleep watching Hitch. Woke up in the morning and said "still wanna keep hanging out?" So we went to get sushi for lunch and spent most of the rest of the day driving around and talking. I don't remember what we had for dinner, but 32 hours after first meeting he asked me to be his girlfriend. Almost right away he started talking about a future together and we knew it was serious for both of us. I decided not to move(which was big for me, I'm not the kind of girl to follow or stay for a guy), 8 months later we started seriously discussing marriage, 2 more months and we were engaged! Our engagement is actually longer than the time we were together before getting engaged. It's been a whirlwind for sure, but when your first date lasts 32 hours you kind of already know.

I met FH on zoosk. I didn't think I would meet anyone, I was mostly just curious who was out there. I don't consider the time we talked online as us dating. After we met and went on two or three dates then we decided to date.

I met him on POF. I don't consider it dating persay but i believe we started our connection online. And he is the Love of my life!

I met my fiancé on facebook, Never knew he be the one, he was exactly in my inbox for a whole year telling me how beautiful i am and good morning every chance he got....

We met on Match.com..talked on the phone for a week or so.. Met in the beginning of the month .. And were official by the end of the month..living together 3 months later.. Engaged 6 months after that.. And married within 14 months of meeting.

FH and I met on OkCupid. We had both been in 6 year relationships and really didn't know how to date so we went online. A year later, and we're getting married next week!!

FH and I met on match.com. We talked for 2 days, met for coffee and a month later we were official. 2.5 years later we were engaged. We'll be married in 9 months. I didn't think I'd meet someone online but I'm so glad I did. We're one of those match.com success stories!

We met on OKCupid. I am not a fan of extended online communication without meeting IRL, so we went on our first date about two days after we started talking. I don't count the time before we met IRL as dating.

FH and I met on POF. We considered ourselves dating after going on a couple dates first. We definitely had a great connection right off the bat though. He was the only guy I actually followed through with a date online and I am so glad that I did

We met on Facebook through our local farming group. I had chickens and he raised all kinds of birds. I had posted a picture on the group of some chicks I was raising in one of those big Rubbermaid containers in a spare room. He said that he would bring me an outdoor wooden brooder box that he made...i thought that was very sweet of him to do, his profile pictures weren't bad looking either . When he dropped off the box he was even handsomer than his pictures! He friend requested me when he got home and the rest is history

We met on Tinder. I definitely didn't think I would meet anyone. All of my friends had a Tinder and I thought it would just be fun to have one. We talked on the site for about a week and then he asked me on a date. I was so nervous about meeting someone I didn't know that I almost didn't go! I'm so glad I did. A year and a couple months later he proposed!

We went to high school together but re connected on MySpace if that counts! Lol

I'd say that about half of my couples meet on dating sites/reconnected online.

FH and I met on Tinder. Definitely did NOT expect that. I had only been on 4 days when I met him, and we never should have matched because Tinder is geographical and he lived two hours away from me at the time. He had just happened to be on a train home from a Halloween party, and was passing through my area when we matched.

We met on POF... I actually joined it and found nothing but creepos that wanted to meet up and "cuddle" (gross) so I closed my account... about two months later, I thought I'd give it another shot, so I opened my account again. About a week of being on there I got a message from FH. He claims I popped up as someone that viewed his profile... but I disagree. lol. I'm not typically in to blonde guys, I'm a brunette type of gal... but as soon as I saw his eyes in his pictures, I looked past his blondeness haha.... I was in love.. Bright green eyes. uhhh . They still get me. They are gorgeous.. We chatted for three days and decided to meet in a public place after I asked about 10 times if he was an axe murderer.. We hit it off right away! I knew right away he was the one. I still get butterflies

We met on eharmony and I consider our first date when we met. He had been on the site for a while but I had only been on it for a week or two.

A lot of people I know met their SO online but I find a lot of people don't tell people that. For ex- they'll say it to me bc they know I met my fiancé online but they tell other people they met through mutual friends. They obviously think people will judge them which is so silly to me- you met the love of your life and that's what should count regardless of how

We reconnected through Match! If it weren't for us both being on there I'm positive we would have never crossed paths again.

We met on Coffee Meets Bagel.

We met on meetme. We were friends only (bc of me) for the first 4 months. We met face to face a few times for coffee(not an actual date). Then at the begining of July we met up at a fireworks display with our kids. A couple weeks later he asked me to be his th I said ask me tomorrow today is mine and the ex old wedding Anniversary. So we talked Sat and talked at my house till 2 am, then he asked, lol. And the rest is history.

We met on match.com. Talked for a week or two and then met in person (we consider in person our first date/anniversary). Together for over 3 years now and getting married in 6 months. Funny thing we was we had acquaintances in common, similar social circles, but had never met each other and probably never would have if not for match.com.
