How many hours is your reception?

Ceremony 3-3:30

Cocktail Hour 3:30 -4:30

Dinner/ Reception 4:30-10:00

After Party in On Site Bar (not hosted) 10:00 - whenever

6-10 reception for dinner and dancing.

Mine is 4 to midnight. Including cocktails but we party so it's normal for us

Mine is from 6-11, including the introductions, first dances, meal, and clean-up. 5 hours is plenty of time to talk to your guest 1×1.

Mines is 4.5 hrs.. 12:30-4:30pm

I've been to a lot of weddings, and almost nobody stays to dance more than an hour after the cake comes out - it's just SUCH a long day for everyone. The few weddings that were crazy dance parties just continued (in more comfortable clothes) at somebody's house or a local bar. I seriously wouldn't worry that yours will be too short!

Our reception is 3.5 hours, because we get the venue for 5 hours from the time the ceremony starts. So:

1/2 hour ceremony

1 hour cocktails

3.5 hours reception.

Figure 1 hour for getting seated, dinner and toasts, another 1/2 hour for dances and cake. Then 90 minute crazy dance party!

It depends what kind of party person you are. I've been to weddings that ended at 10, 12, and 2am. The 10pm one sucked. Everyone literally just got into the motion of having fun and dancing, aka the liquor kicked in. The 12am was better. But the 2am was like a party and I loved it! So for my wedding I'm settling with 630-1230am.

Our is 4 hours 7-11 ceremony is at 6:30

Our wedding is in the same location as the reception. The ceremony will start at 3:30 (pretty short) and then there will be the cocktail hour while we finish up family pics. Reception is from 5-9. Afterwards, anyone who wants to continue partying can come to the lobby at the hotel to mingle longer.

Yeah my cocktail is 3-4 and reception 4-9 and was told that's an hr longer than normal.

4 - 5:15 cocktails, reception until 10 PM.

Reception. 7-10 pm...I was told 3 hours is the norm in New Orleans though.

2 hours

7:30-8:30pm cocktail hour

8:30pm-12:30am reception

5 hours with the 1st hour being a dinner

12:00-12:30 pm - Ceremony

12:30-1:30 pm - Cocktails and appetizers

1:30-5 pm - Reception

1-6. That includes cocktail hour and dinner, along with the rest of the traditional reception stuff. We are however doing a false exit at 530 so that will probably actually be when it ends

6-11 including cocktail hour, dinner, dancing. We have the option to extend for another hour for $750 if we want, but we probably won't.
