    We have three entree options, plus a vegetarian/vegan option for anyone who specifically requests that.

    We did a buffet with 4 protein options: 2 types of chicken, teriyaki beef, and grilled teriyaki tofu. The side options were Hawaiian mac salad, sesame green beans, soba noodles, and tossed salad. We also got enough fried rice for everyone to have a portion.

    In my culture we do meals in courses and it's usually like an 8-10 course. so at some point there should be something for everyone haha

    We're having a 3-course meal, no options but we've asked for dietary restrictions and anyone with allergies or who doesn't eat meat/fish, etc. will have an alternative meal! This was just how the caterer for our destination wedding does it, so I'm assuming not having options is a bit of a cultural difference compared with the US

    We’re pescatarians and have a lot of friends and family with special diets, so we’re doing family style with lots of vegetarian, gluten free and pescatarian options. The two main entrees are crabcakes (we’re from Maryland) and stuffed acorn squash. Everything else is plant based other than one of the appetizers. We didn’t really want to offer things we couldn’t even eat ourselves.

    We have three: grilled filet of beef, miso salmon, or mushroom spinach gnocchi (vegetarian). We got to taste them all and we love them. I'm usually a non-vegetable eater but the gnocchi was actually my favorite.

    We’re having chicken fried chicken and shrimp alfredo for the entree. Each guest can choose both. For sides we’re having mashed potatoes ( I think) lol and asparagus. We don’t have any vegetarians in our guest list.

    When we were going to have our big wedding we were going to have two options for all courses which were going to be served alternately but as we ended up having a small wedding with our reception at a fine dining restaurant, our guests got to pick one of 4 options for each course.

    Our options were:

    First course – either (1) angus beef carpaccio with truffle dressing, capers, parmigiano-reggiano and rocket, (2) raw scallops, black caviar, cultured cream and lemon oil, (3) veal and porcini ragu with conchiglie and parmigiano-reggiano, or (4) stracciatella with sugar snap peas, asparagus and preserved lemon dressing.

    Second course – either (1) pan fried snapper with asparagus, tomatoes, capers and anchovy salsa, (2) angus beef striploin, pine nut pesto, and charred tomatoes and onions, (3) aged aquarello risotto with spinach, garlic and stracciatella, or (4) morten bay bug spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, globe artichokes, olives and capers.

    Sides – potato puree and a radicchio and rocket salad with pear and chestnuts

    Third course – either (1) limoncello mascarpone cream with lemon curd, savoiardi biscuits and citrus sorbet, (2) honey panna cotta, pineapple, oat crumble, and yoghurt and passionfruit sorbet, (3) tarte piemontaise with hazelnut cream, milk chocolate mousse and salted caramel ice cream, or (4) cheese selection with pane carasu and accompaniments.

    For our cocktail hour -

    * scallops wrapped in bacon * Spankopita * mini beef wellingtons

    Then buffet:

    Caesar salad with rolls

    Entrees:

    * Stuffed Shells

    * Meatballs

    * Eggplant parm

    * Chicken Marsala

    Then coffee/ tea / cake etc.

    I was not thrilled to go with the messier possibility of pasta - but this place has great food and I am hoping I do not get a meatball down the front of my dress Smiley xd

    We're having 3. Chicken cordon bleu for the picky eaters, pork knuckle with sauerkraut and apples, and a vegan eggplant caponata with polenta. All three will come with veggies and mashed potatoes. Kosher meals will have to be requested separately and everything is shellfish and nut free. We're having 3 other courses in addition to our cocktail hour.

    Haha, there definitely should be something for everyone in that scenario! That sounds like a great meal. Did you divide up the courses with speeches/dances in between? Or did you do all courses in a row?
