Are crabcakes a popular thing in Maryland? My fiancé and I are from New York and we’re getting married in Maryland but we’re not seafood people so we have no seafood on our menu

I wouldn’t worry about it if you aren’t seafood people but yes, Marylanders are the makers of Old Bay (a seafood spice) and we’re a little obsessed with that and crabs and crabcakes. I don’t order crabcakes at restaurants unless I’m in Maryland (or in a border state near the ocean) because Maryland crabcakes tend to have more crab and less filler. Our caterer makes an awesome crabcake and I love them a lot, so we made that our main entree.

Awesome that you're taking dietary restrictions into account! What are the three courses that you're serving?

Totally makes sense to only offer foods that you can eat! Very cool that you're also taking everyone else's special diets into account as well. Those entrees sound good - unique options for a wedding meal!

Ooh, my fiance would have loved to serve salmon at our wedding, lol! We are also offering a fish option, though it'll be whitefish. I think three options is a good selection!

Very cool! Are you doing buffet style, where your guests can try a little of everything? Or do they each pick one entree?

We were originally going to have servers but she doesn’t have enough white staff to accommodate for that because of Covid so now we’re doing Buffet which I wasn’t happy about but it is going to allow for people to choose what they want

All of that sounds awesome!! Lol, pasta can be messy, but good food is totally worth the risk!

Totally makes sense, but buffets are good for letting people choose what they want and also to try a little bit of everything!

We haven't finalized everything (taste testing is coming up soon, we're very excited!) but our venue gives us three options plus a vegetarian/vegan option if requested. We're 99% positive we're going to do a beef, a chicken, and a fish so that it is possible for everyone to find something they like. It also comes with a first course salad, veggies and a starch. Our cocktail hour will have a ton of food as well, and we're planning on doing one savory and one sweet "late night" snack.

If anyone leaves our wedding hungry it will absolutely be of their own making!
